Netflix's royal drama "The Crown" blew fans minds with season 1. Now everyone is anticipating for a season 2.

According to Express, as of now, Netflix is positive that "The Crown" will return for a second season. This time the series will cover the royal period between 1955 and 1964.

Sadly for Claire Foy and Matt Smith fans "The Crown" Season 2 will be last for the actors. They are currently filming the season 2 episodes.

It was previously reported by "The Crown" creator Peter Morgan that along with the leads other actors will be recast for season 3 and season 4 as well. This is needed to be done due to the characters in the series will be aging as the season goes by.

"I feel that when we reach 1963-64 we've gone as far as we can go with Claire Foy without having to do silly things in terms of makeup to make her look older," Screen Daily quoted Morgan. "She can't help the fact she's as young as she is."

Morgan added that "The Crown" season 2 will focus more on Prince Philip, his childhood, upbringing and his relationship with his children, wife, and others. It is expected that since the timeline will cover till 1964, the birth of both Prince Andrew and Prince Edward will be shown in "The Crown" season 2.

Netflix is yet to officially announce a premiere date for "The Crown" season 2. However, rumors are rife that it will arrive in sometimes in November 2017.

As per Vanity Fair, "The Crown" season 2 will be covering a major world event. Since former US President John F Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 it will fall within the season two timeline.

"Dexter" famed Michael C Hall will be cast in the role of President John F Kennedy. "Quarry" actor Jodi Balfour will play as first lady Jackie Kennedy. Matthew Goode from "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" has been cast as Princess Margaret's boyfriend-turned-husband Antony-Armstrong Jones, the Earl of Snowdon.
