Counter-Strike News: Pro Player Promises To "Crush" Opponent Who Belittled His Team, Backs It Up In Dominating Fashion
When Team Astralis bested Virtus.Pro during the grand finals of the Counter Strike ELEAGUE Major in January, Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye tweeted that his team even "underperformed" in its 2-1 victory. A member of the legendary Counter Stike team Virtus.Pro took offense and promised to crush Team Astralis when they next met.
Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, along with his other teammates, Filip "NEO" Kubski, Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski, Paweł "byali" Bieliński and Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski have been playing alongside each other for several years now, with four years for Virtus.Pro. They are well-experienced and they always have each other's back.
Which is why when someone talks trash to them, expect them to retaliate as a team. When Kjaerbye talked some smack, TaZ took it as an offense and made things personal between Astralis and Virtus. Pro:
"Hard lose. @KjaerbyeCS wrote that Astralis underperformed. I promise u here - we will crush u next event, please perform then. GG today," a tweet from Taz, as per Compete.
That meeting eventually happened during the recent semifinals of DreamHack Masters Las Vegas 2017, when Virtus.Pro went up again with Astralis. Over three rounds, Virtus.Pro did exactly TaZ, said it would: crush. On the first map, a dominating 12-3 advantage going into the half for VP eventually led into undefeated four rounds in the second half.
According to Kopitiam Bot, byali put up 24 kills total in both of Virtus.Pro's winning rounds, and in total, the team dominated Astralis on the maps it won on: a steam-rolling 16-3 on Nuke and a unmerciful 16-4 on Train. During the post-game interview, TaZ was asked about his tweet and replied, "What can I say? I told you. I told you this would happen."
He added that he was already looking forwards towards team SK as a potential opponent in the grand finals, saying that he wanted to play against SK since they are probably very confident with themselves and won't even claim that they underperformed in every match that they play on. TaZ ended the interview saying that he wants to destroy SK as well.
