If you're a movie fan who loves lots of suspense and even more action, "The Equalizer" may be exactly what you need this fall.

The action-packed film stars 59-year-old Academy award winning actor, Denzel Washington and 17-year-old actress Chloe Moretz.

In the movie, Washington plays the role of Robert McCall, a former black ops commando who faked his own death so that he could get away from his strenuous career and live peacefully in Boston, Massachusetts. However, when the life of a young woman named Teri (played by Moretz) is at stake, McCall gets back in the game and "comes back to life."

The Daily Mail reports that Washington's character initially thinks he's just battling her pimps but ends up taking out 'the East coast hub of the Russian mafia.'

The movie's trailer opens with Washington's character, McCall, "reading a book in a deserted diner, where he watches Moretz get beaten up by a group of thugs. McCall comes out of retirement to save her," noted The Hollywood Reporter.

"The Equalizer" also stars Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo who plays Robert McCall's colleague.

Antoine Fuqua, who directed one of Washington's most popular movies, "Training Day," will also be directing this film.

Originally, "The Equalizer" premiered on CBS as a television series between 1985 and 1989.

The show starred Edward Woodward as Robert McCall, a middle aged retired intelligence officer with a mysterious past who helps people in trouble.

"The Equalizer," which ran for four seasons, mixed ingredients from popular spy films and private investigator shows with violent realism.

Notable guest stars on the show included a young Melissa Joan Hart, Kevin Spacey, Christian Slater, Adam Horovitz of the Beastie Boys, and David Alan Grier.
