Angelina Jolie's Daughter Shiloh Speaks Cambodian Language; Maddox And Pax Worked In ‘First They Killed My Father’ Production Process
Angelina Jolie has recently revealed Cambodia holds a special place in her heart. The actress even admitted that the country was the reason behind her "awakening".
According to BBC, Cambodia has been always important for the "Maleficent" actress because she adopted her oldest son Maddox from the country. Now Angelina's kids share their mother's sentiments too.
The 41-year old has admitted that she has been in love with Cambodia and its people for a long time. As Angelina learned about the tremulous history of the country she realized how little she knows about the world and that moment became her "awakening" of some sort.
Angelina visited Cambodia for the premiere of her latest biographical thriller film "First They Killed My Father". The movie is based on the true story of Khmer Rouge genocide that claimed the lives of two million people.
"We've been coming back and forth for 17 years, it feels like a second home to me," People quoted Angelina Jolie. "The children have close ties to the children here; many of them are their best friends. Maddox is happy to be back in his country."
The movie is directed by Angelina and her son Maddox, 15, and Pax, 13 worked with the production enthusiastically. The actress also revealed that Maddox worked very hard as he read the script and helped with notes. Maddox attended the production meetings as well.
Apart from Maddox and Pax, Angelina's first biological daughter Shiloh showed off her love for Cambodia as well. During the film's premiere Maddox thanked everyone for attending.
He mentioned that it's a great honor to present this film to the people of Cambodia with mother Angelina. Maddox went on to invite Shiloh on-stage because she had something to say.
Shiloh stole the show by acknowledging the crowd in the Cambodian language Khmer as she said, "My name is Shiloh and I love Cambodia." Angelina Jolie's "First They Killed My Father" will premiere on Netflix later in 2017.
