Fans are going gaga over Baby Groot ever since the end credit scene showed him at the end of "Guardians of the Galaxy". The scene in the 2014 Marvel Cinematic Universe promised more adorable baby Groot in future.

"Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2" didn't disappoint fans. The 2017 MCU movie trailer has revealed more baby Groot with his cute voice.

However, comic fans are excited to learn that baby Groot will get his very own comic book, entitled "I Am Groot". According to MovieWeb, the writer of the comic book is Christopher Hastings.

The plot is Guardians get caught in a wormhole leaving the baby Groot all alone. Groot is separated by billions of light-years away from the team, stranded on an alien planet.

Now baby Groot, with his still under-developed body, will have to journey to the center of this unknown and find the way back to his team. The planet is full of strange creatures and societies who doesn't understand baby Groot.

The comic book will have 32 pages and priced at $3.99. During an interview with ComicBook, writer Chris Hastings threw talked more about the story.

Hastings stated that the first thing to notice in baby Groot is his super cuteness and he is really funny. But the story doesn't focus on his cuteness alone, but how he can survive even with his limited abilities to communicate.

"I started thinking about the Zelda games that Link doesn't talk in," ComicBook quoted Hastings. "Why they manage to have such rich worlds and stories all the same, how to take something like that mute first person character experience and translate it into a comic."

"I Am Groot #1" will available in the market in May 2017. However, it's not clear whether the comics will be released before or after "Guardians of the Galaxy 2", which releases on May 5.
