Galaxy Tab S3, Samsung's Own iPad Pro Competitor Listed For $600
Samsung has officially unveiled their very own iPad Pro competitor called the Galaxy Tab S3 last month. But while the company showed off everything about their brand new tablet, they have declined to give further details on pricing or availability.
But Samsung fans are finally getting to know the Galaxy Tab S3's price in an official announcement. According to The Verge, Best Buy currently has the Tab S3 listed for $600.
That price would include the S Pen stylus, but it doesn't include Samsung's keyboard case. The keyboard will also be sold separately for $129.99, which brings the price for the full Galaxy Tab S3 package way up to about $730.
The Galaxy Tab S3 gets very pricey for an Android tablet, but despite that, it still comes in beneath the iPad Pro. Apple is currently selling its comparable model, the 9.7-inch Pro, for $599, while selling its keyboard case and stylus separately for $149 and $99, respectively.
At this point, people can find the iPad at discounted prices, but without a sale, the price for everything would go up to a whopping $847 for all three. It's even more expensive than the full package for the Tab S3.
A report from CNET states the importance of Samsung to stay competitive with Apple in terms of pricing here since the Galaxy Tab S3 is really conceptualized, developed, and designed to go head-to-head with the iPad Pro. It's a very powerful 9.7-inch tablet that is focused mainly on productivity, with a high-resolution display, four speakers, and special stylus features; it even has the same top-line description as the iPad Pro.
Of course, there are also some bigger challenges that Samsung has to overcome in terms of selling their Tab S3, most notably, the lack of great Android tablet apps. Developers have been aggressively customizing apps for the iPad's larger screen for years, but have been rather slow to do the same for Android tablets.
That can potentially lead to a worse overall experience, which makes any Android tablet a much harder product to sell. There's also still no word on the official launch date, but chances are, Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is coming very much soon.
