"Steven Universe" will still continue until 2018 according to Cartoon Network. The popular cartoon series is in hiatus again after it failed to air its latest episode "Lion 4: Alternate Ending" on March 27. Fans have begun to worry and speculated that the series is finally going to end. But this announcement from Cartoon Network has reassured fans that their favorite gems will still be on air until the current season ends.

Fans of "Steven Universe" were also worried that the series may be nearing its end after it received lower than usual number of viewers for its last aired episode on March 3. With this new update from Cartoon Network, "Steven Universe," along with other popular series from the network like "The Powerpuff Girls," "Mighty Magiswords," "Adventure Time," miniseries, "Go Titans Go" and "The Amazing World of Gumballs," are assured of airtime till 2018, Deadline Hollywood reported.

This was not the first time that "Steven Universe" went on a long break. Before Thanksgiving last year, the show took a break for weeks without any updates about when the next episodes would air. A few weeks before Thanksgiving, Cartoon Network aired "Steven Universe's" holiday special and then ultimately announced new episodes slated for next year.

Now that Cartoon Network has confirmed that "Steven Universe" is up till 2018, fans are now asking when the next episodes would air. Mobi Picker said that despite the good news, there are no words yet when the next episodes would air and if season 5 is ever going to push through. It is also said that "Lion 4: Alternate Ending" will air after the hiatus ends.

Aside from "Steven Universe" and the returning animated series mentioned, new titles will also premiere soon on Cartoon Network. Just some of the new toons that viewers should expect are "Craig of the Creek," "Summer Camp Island," "OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes" and "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs."
