Lindsay Lohan and her 51-year-old mother Dina Lohan are two peas in a pod.

Dina Lohan's arrest and DUI charge is a classic "like mother, like daughter" story for the Lohan family.

At one point in time, it was Lindsay who made headlines for her scandalous incidents and run-ins with the law, but now it's her mother's turn.

Following an arrest on September 2013 for driving under the influence, Dina was sentenced to one hundred hours of community service in Nassau District Court and got her license suspended for one year, ABC news reports.

In addition to the suspension of her license and community service hours, Dina was also fined $3,000. She will reportedly have to use an interlock device that will only allow her to start her car if she is sober.

As part of her road to sobriety, Dina will also need to attend a drunk-driving program and victims impact panel.

Dina Lohan's lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, spoke to ABC News about Lohan's sentencing and said that Dina is ready to put the DUI arrest behind her. Heller also commented that the reason behind Dina not getting incarcerated has to do with the fact that she's been a great mother and upstanding Nassau County resident up until this point.

"Clearly it was recognized that Dina Lohan has been a life-long resident of Nassau County, a good and loving parent to four children and the arrest was borne out of an isolated act of indiscretion on the occasion of her 50th birthday. Dina Lohan is happy to put this unfortunate event behind her."

As Dina begins to put the "unfortunate event" behind her, TMZ reports that Lindsay's mother promised the judge in court that "there will not be a next time" regarding her DUI.

Let's hope Dina sticks to her promise.
