Mahud Villalaz, a Hispanic, aged 42 got a second-degree burn after a 61-year-old white American man threw an acid in his face.

Yet again, another Hispanic man became a victim of hate crime after being doused with acid on the face. On Friday, Milwaukee resident Mahud Villalaz suffered second-degree facial burns after a heated confrontation with a 61-year-old white American. The attacker splashed the "corrosive substance" on his face after yelling: "You came here to invade."

According to a report on ABC News, the grisly incident was captured by a surveillance camera. In press conference, the Hispanic man claimed that prior to the racist attack, the suspect confronted him about his parked car in the back of a Mexican restaurant. The video shows that the suspect raised his hands and pointed it in Villalaz's face right before he splashed it with liquid.

The authorities said that Villalaz parked his truck outside the restaurant when he was approached by the 61-year-old man who started berating him, as reported by NY Times.

During a press conference on Sunday, the Hispanic man told reporters that the suspect told him not to park in the area, stressing that he needs to follow the law because he is an illegal immigrant in the country. With the hopes of avoiding an argument, Villalaz immediately moved his car into another space, but the man was already waiting outside with a bottle on his hands.

The man started yelling and berate Villalaz, telling him to "go back to your country." As a response, Villalaz said that he is also an American citizen, as he is currently residing in Milwaukee, but it is not enough to deter the man.

"He told me I could not park right there. He said, 'You need to obey the law. You came here and invade my country.' He started arguing, saying, 'Why you come here and invade my country? Why you come here illegally?"

While Villalaz left the man and started to walk going to the restaurant the suspect suddenly threw the acid in his face. At this point, Villalaz started to scream and asked for help. He went inside the restaurant and quickly splashed water on his face, which lessened his injuries.

Moreover, the Hispanic man described the incident as horrifying because he thought that the suspect will run behind him and shoot him with a gun.

The Milwaukee Police Department told the reporters that they already arrested the 61-year-old man due to the racist atttack. Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Police Department did not release the identity of the suspect but he will be charged with aggravated battery.

On the other hand, Milwaukee Alderman Jose Perez sain in an interview that he expects that the suspect will be charged with a hate crime. He also added that senseless violence like this must stop and as a community, one another and avoid conflict. In addition to that, Perez also said that as a community, they have been given an assurance that all hate crime enhancers are added to the charges.

The Milwaukee Police Department gave its word that fairness and thorough investigation will be done to avoid racist attack like this in the future. Meanwhile, the suspect is already in the custody of the Milwaukee Police Department while the investigation is on going.
