Another shooting incident occurred just days after the school shooting in Santa Clarita in California that claimed the lives of three students, one of which was the shooter. After the incident, Vice President Mike Pence sent condolences to the grieving families and assured them that President Trump's administration would not tolerate such crime by creating policies to end gun-related violence in the country.

Sadly, these policies aren't in place as of yet and America has seen yet another act of violence involving a gun.

A San Diego man has reportedly shot and killed his wife and three children, before turning the firearm on himself. The incident is said to have happened only 24 hours after the suspect received a restraining order filed by his estranged wife. In a report from San Diego Union Tribune, the police believe it was a murder-suicide brought on by a bitter divorce. The victims were identified as the husband, his wife and their three children, their other son was rushed into the hospital for emergency surgery.

Matt Dobbs, a police Lieutenant, told reporters that they received a call from the neighbors of the unnamed family before 7 am on Saturday. When they arrived at the residence, they lean to the window and found a boy covered with blood. The following are the victims in the said incident:

  • Husband aged 31 years old who shot his wife and children and turn the gun on himself right after
  • Wife who aged 29 years old who filed the restraining order
  • Their children; a 9-year-old boy, 5-year-old boy, and 3-year-old boy while their other son aged 11 years old was rushed to the hospital.

In a report from Fox News, the police believed that the man shot his wife and children in a domestic dispute and somehow considered it as a murder-suicide. The police found out that the woman filed a restraining order to her estranged husband from whom she had separated for quite some time. However, in the previous report it was told the man was triggered when he received the restraining order but the police clarified and that is still unclear if the man was really aware of the restraining order.

Dobbs told also the reporters in another statement that they responded to the same residence on November 1 because of a property dispute. The husband asked for some tools from his wife but their argument escalated into a domestic violence and disturbance. After the police responded, the police gave the wife information as to how to get a restraining order against her husband, who reportedly disturbs them from time to time.

One of the neighbors of the family, Sanya Gordon, told Fox News that she heard gunshots before the police arrived but what shocked her was when the police removed the bodies of the victims from the house. She felt so sad about what happened though she doesn't personally know the family. She remembers the children who used play with other kids in their neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Dobbs said that it was really a tragic domestic violence because after the husband shot his wife and children he then turn the gun on himself which what they described as a murder-suicide. Dobbs added that the crime scene was really gruesome that even the responding police officers were traumatized. He advised a counselling for the responding policemen if they need it.

In addition, Police Chief David Nisleit said that what they know is that the family was going through a divorce. He also said that it is also very difficult for him to respond to a gruesome domestic violence such as this as he is also a father and a son.
