Glamping is More and More the Trend
Do you want to be in nature during your holiday, but you're not the kind of person for sleeping on the floor and walking miles to the toilet? Go glamping! Once you are acquainted with glamorous camping, then you are over.
Of course, some diehards want to have a vacation in a traditional tent. They sleep on the floor, walk with a toilet roll under their arms or in their fanny pack towards the toilets, do the dishes in a shared outside kitchen and so on. You know them.
If you are used to go out camping this way, with your tent and accessories, you have no idea about glamping. This 'glamorous camping' is still a hit in many places. Glamping Spain (translated to Dutch: glamping Spanje), glamping France, glamping... everywhere. But did you know it all started in South Africa?
Don't miss any luxury
When rich explorers from Europe and America traveled to Afrika to research animals, they were traveling for many month and stayed in luxurious safari-tents, made out of canvas. They had to feel at home and didn't want to miss any luxury as they had at home.
So why not stay in such a luxurious tent when you are on a holiday? It is nog that you got to have a built-in wine cellar (translated to Dutch: wijnklimaatkast inbouw) in your tent as you have at home, but a good bed and some sanitair would be great. And so camping owners found out that people love this way of camping. Bingo!
Your bathroom
Glamping is camping with a comfortable bed, a real kitchen and a bathroom. Does this has anything to do with camping at all? O yes. It it still located in the middle of nature.
When you go glamping you have more space as well inside the tent as outside. And on a glamping place there are mostly great accommodations like a luxe swimming pool, a good restaurant en a supermarket. There are often also a lot of possibilities for sports.
In America and England, glamping is popular. In Holland, it all started in 2011 and in 2015 it became a hit. For example the lodge suite and air lodge are more and more popular. This last one is a unique accommodation made out of wood with two floors. It has a kitchenette (fridge, stove) and a bathroom and lots of space. There are terrases and a balcony.
