Kobe Bryant sent a text message to Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka just minutes before the fatal helicopter crash that killed Bryant and several others.

John Altobelli along with his wife and daughter were few of the persons who were included in the fatal helicopter crash on January 26 that killed them including Kobe Bryant and her daughter.

In the opening speech of Rob Pelinka during the public memorial service for Kobe and Gianna Bryant, he shared the last heroic text message of Kobe Bryant just minutes before the fatal accident.

He said that he was at the church when Kobe Bryant texted and requested him if he could help him contact a certain baseball agent in Southern Califonia.

Kobe Bryant wanted to recommend Alexis Altobelli for an internship.

Rob Pelinka is Kobe Bryant's friend and former agent.

He told Bryant through their exchange of text messages that he had seen Superagent Scott Boras at recent games of Los Angeles Lakers and would put a plan in motion to negotiate with him.

However, Pelinka did not think that it would be their last exchange of messages.

Pelinka said that it was the last human and heroic act of Kobe Bryant by using his platform to help and shape the future of Alexis Altobelli.

To grant the final request and heroic text of Kobe Bryant, Pelinka contacted superagent Scott Boras within days of Bryant's death.

In a report from CNN News, Boras said that they already created a community for Alexis. They will also take Alexis to games and show her the different departments of the company where 135 employees work. He also added that they will figure out how Alexis could gain experience working with them.

Moreover, John Altobelli was a longtime acquaintance of Scott Boras. The agent said that John Altobelli, baseball coach of Orange Coast College, has always offered help without expecting anything in return.

Before the fatal helicopter crash, Boras said that he had invited John and his daughter Alexis to have a tour at the Boras Corp. offices.

Meanwhile, Boras and Bryant were also part of the same religious congregation. He said that they spoke from time to time, but never had the chance to exchange phone numbers.

Boras said that the only time he knew Bryant's interest in getting Alexis an internship was when he was contacted by Pelinka.

Boras has now reached out and is in contact with Alexi's older brother, J.J., who is a talent scout for the Boston Red Sox. Boras said that they will help Alexis by rotating her through the different departments of the company including marketing, baseball operations, sports science, and more.

Boras also said that he knew that the child is still mourning for the death of her parents and no one can replace Keri, her mother. But he said that he has employed many women in his company who can give motherly care and hopefully fill a void for Alexis.
