Los Tigres Del Norte along with other musicians are encouraging every Latino in the United States to participate in the 2020 U.S. Census according to a recently published article.

LOS TIGRES DEL NORTE ENCOURAGING LATINOS TO FILL OUT THE CENSUS

The participation of every person in the United States for the 2020 U.S. Census is very important so that every person from different groups, ethnicities, and races will be counted. This is also the basis of the federal government in allocating funds to every community.

Latinos need to make sure that they are all counted so that they will get the money that they deserve. It is for this reason that Los Tigres Del Norte along with other famous musicians are encouraging Latinos in the United States urged everyone not to forget to participate in the census.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO FILL OUT THE CENSUS?

The U.S. census is done every 10 years in the United States. Through the census, it will determine as to how much the state and a city will receive based on its population. This will also dictate how many representatives they will have. The bigger the population, the more representatives needed.

Moreover. one of the reasons also why it is important to participate in the census so that every state is accurately represented and they get the federal budget that they deserve. The budget will be spent on schools, infrastructures, and some other important and crucial things.

Amid COVID-19, it is important that everyone should fill out their census, however, some may find it difficult. There are several ways to filing the census. It can be through an email, by phone, or online.

LOS TIGRES DEL NORTE TEAM UP WITH OTHER MUSICIANS TO INFORM LATINOS 

In an attempt to reach every Latino and urge them to participate in the 2020 U.S. Census, Los Tigres Del Norte teamed up with Ana Barbara, Natanael Cano, and Fuerza Regida and released a song about the census. The Census Day is on April 1 but it is not yet the deadline. 

President of Radio Univision Jesus Lara said: "We believe that music is a catalyst in bringing our community together and we're excited to partner with these great artists to convey a message of unity and civic duty to our audience. Through the power of music, Univision is bringing to life our commitment to inform, empower and entertain Hispanics in America and, ensure a fair and accurate count."

Meanwhile, only 29.5 percent of Chicago households have filled out their census which is below the national average 36.2 according to a recently published article. One of the reasons seen by this low number is the undocumented immigrants living with those who are legally living in the country. 

However, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez clarified and assured that "[The data shared] is completely confidential. It's even confidential within the federal government." This simply means that either you are undocumented or not, you have to participate in the census so that your state will get the federal budget it deserves.
