It was just three whole months ago when the Latinas Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performed an iconic and controversial Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Their halftime show was packed full of colors and festivities that featured both performers' extensive list of famous hits. Latin artists Bad Bunny and J Balvin also made a special guest appearance in the super-charged show.

While the performance was breath-taking, everything that happened backstage is just as exciting.

Rehearsal Footage

Jennifer Lopez recently took to her official Instagram page to post a series of never-before-seen footage of their rehearsal. In one of the videos, the
Hustlers actress was seen offering butt jiggling advice to her fellow performer, Hips Don't Lie singer Shakira.

In the footage, JLO said shaking her knees helps her achieve the perfect booty shake. "My mom taught me that when I was four," she said.

Other videos showed JLO's iconic pole entrance as well as her army of powerful dancers. She also posted precious moments where the two Latinas received loud applause in the rehearsal space.

The new footage revealed just how hands-on Jennifer Lopez is as a performer. Their hard work gave the world one of the most incredible half time shows in history.

Super Bowl Halftime Show Highlights

Shakira: Powerful in Red

Shakira opened the performance while dressed in a glittering red Peter Dundas ensemble with an army of female dancers who looked just as commanding. She sang her biggest hits, including "Whenever, Wherever," and "Hips Don't Lie."

She whipped out her extraordinary belly-dancing skills, played the guitar, and crowd-surfed through a mosh pit. She also gave the world a meme-worthy moment where she wiggled her tongue while staring straight at the camera.

Bad Bunny Sets the Stage on Fire

In an unexpected act, the Waka Waka singer brought out Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny. The pair teamed up for an energized cover of Cardi B's "I Like It." They also sang "Chantaje," Shakira's Spanish hit, where Bunny filled in for Maluma.

JLO Gives a Nod to Hustlers

The Halftime show transitioned to Lopez's set. She kicked off her performance with the classic hit "Jenny from the Block." She wore an empowering Versace black leather ensemble. She later changed into a blinding bodysuit to sing "Waiting for Tonight," where she performed a not-so-subtle nod to her film, Hustlers.

J Balvin Performs Mi Gente

Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin graced the stage with a surprise performance of his hit song "Mi Gente." It once featured Beyonce in a 2017 remix. The song's message, which focuses on the importance of Latin unity, fits the Super Bowl set perfectly well.

Puerto Rico Receives Support

Perhaps one of the most inspiring moments during the Super Bowl Halftime Show was when Lopez appeared draped in a giant coat that resembled the Puerto Rican flag. She sang "Let's Get Loud" with her 11-year-old daughter Emme, who proved she's following in her mother's footsteps with her incredible set of pipes.

The flag coat represented a show of support to the island, which was hit by a devastating earthquake.

Latin History

JLO and Shakira made history as the firsts Latin artists to headline the Superbowl Halftime Show. They were also the first pair of female artists to share the iconic stage.
