The Department of Justice announced on Wednesday through a press release the charge against Mark Grenons and his sons Jonathan, Jordan, and Joseph for conspiracy to defraud the United States.

Additionally, charges include conspiracy to violate the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and criminal contempt for marketing and selling COVID-19 cure.

The Department of Justice described the "Miracle Mineral Solution" that the Florida man and his sons are marketing and selling, a chemical solution that contains sodium chloride and water. This solution means that the product is bleachlike.

DOJ added that the family instructed their customers to ingest the "Miracle Mineral Solution" or to take the COVID-19 cure orally, making the "Miracle Mineral Solution" to become a powerful bleach or chlorine dioxide. This solution is most of the time used for industrial water treatment or bleaching textiles, pulp, and paper. Hence, the answer is very dangerous once taken orally.

The Florida man and his sons claimed that the "Miracle Mineral Solution" could treat and cure COVID-19 patients. However, according to a published report by The Hill, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said that they did not approve the said solution to treat COVID-19 or any illnesses.

Moreover, the U.S. FDA warned and urged everyone not to drink any solution like the MMS or bleach because it can cause dangerous side effects such as severe vomiting, diarrhea, and life-threatening low blood pressure.

It was also discovered the Florida man and his sons marketed the "Miracle Mineral Solution" as a cure to other diseases like Alzheimer's disease, autism, multiple sclerosis, and HIV or AIDS.

Ariana Fajardo Orshan, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, released a statement saying that the federal government continues to protect people from criminal conduct that takes advantage of the present situation due to the global pandemic.

Fajardo Orshan added that not only the "Miracle Mineral Solution" product toxic, but the distribution and use of the unapproved product might prevent those who are sick to receive legitimate or U.S. FDA approved medicines.

The use of chlorine dioxide products and other unapproved products to cure and treat COVID-19 and other diseases are unacceptable.

As of today, there are no vaccines yet to fight COVID-19. However, some vaccines are already in their last phase of clinical trials.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have set guidelines for whom and when to use the COVID-19 drug remdesivir.

Today's best recommendation is always to observe the highest form of hygiene, like handwashing with soap and water, social distancing, and the use of facemasks.

COVID-19 measures should be strict because, as of this time, the number of infections has already reached more than three million.

Meanwhile, in Florida, COVID-19 infections have already reached more than 223,000, which makes them the fourth state in the country with high infections, according to worldometers. Florida is below New York, Califonia, and Texas.
