Mexico City Amusement Park Seems Permanently Closing, Rides Being Dismantled
The La Feria de Chapultepec in Mexico City seemed to be permanently closing as it started to dismantle its rides weeks ago, according to the YouTube channel "The Coaster Zone."
On September 8, two people died, while two others got injured at the popular amusement park in Mexico City. After this, the Mexico City government immediately announced the cancelation of their operation permit.
But this time, the amusement park is bidding goodbye to all their patronages, especially the kids, as the management began dismantling their rides a couple of weeks ago.
Last year, the company tried to have a dialogue with the local authorities to solve the case. Among those that had been discussed were the future of the park and its employees.
The company said the management has always cooperated with the local authorities and has provided important information that would help solve the cause of the accident.
The amusement park further noted that solving the case would require international experts and a certified inspector from the National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials (NAARSO) and other organizations, the El Universal reported.
It was also reported that the amusement park did not mention the December 2018 accident, when an employee from the amusement park died, protecting a girl from a ride accident.
This means that September 2019 was already the second accident in the amusement park. Both incidents claimed three lives.
Few of the best playing facilities in the amusement park were the roller coaster, Chimera, Cascabel 2.0, The house of terror, Pepsi Tower, and the famous giant dog, in which guests can enter its body and learn about its interior.
The amusement park that brought many memories, most especially for the family-oriented Mexicans and children will surely feel sad about the dismantling of the facility. This was the place where many groups of friends hang out, ate some delicious popcorn, and ride in the popular roller coaster.
It is sad to know that the amusement park will say goodbye for now as it seems to be negligent when it comes to safety in the facility.
Meanwhile, there is no report yet on the next plan of the amusement park. The park started its operation in 1964 and they eventually stop in October last year. This was a month after the September 2019 accident.
There was also no developing report if the families of those, who died in the 2018 and 2019 filed a case, or have been compensated. This includes the family of their employee in the 2018 accident.
Moreover, there was also no report about the management's plan for their employees, who may suffering from financial difficulty now since everyone is having economic problems due to the global pandemic.
