If you're a pop culture fanboy or fangirl, there's a good chance going to Comic-Con is in your bucket list. Luckily, San Diego Comic-Con 2020 is going for a virtual line-up of events with Comic-Con at Home for this year.

Fans can now watch TV show panels and screenings from the safety of their own homes with virtual events from July 22-26.

With San Diego Comic-Con at Home, this is the first time the events go virtual. The set-up is different from how Comic-Con usually goes, but the regular events had been canceled in light of the coronavirus.

It's a good year for streaming services like Amazon, FX, HBO, Hulu, and ViacomCBS. These are just some of the studios and networks that announced they would participate in the entertainment world's most significant series of events this year.

What Can You Expect?

Comic-Con at Home organizers said in a promotion video that the event would have "free parking, comfy chairs, personalized snacks, no lines, pets welcome, badges for all, and a front-row seat."

Organizers chose to put up an event through virtual means but promised fans that they can still expect panel discussions, Q&As, and sneak peeks for upcoming productions.

Big names like Joss Whedon, John Slattery, Seth MacFarlane, and Mila Kunis confirmed that they would participate. Other impressive talents will also be expected, as usual.

Big titles are also being brought to the event, including three "Star Trek" titles, "His Dark Materials," "Lovecraft Country," "Archer," "What We Do in the Shadows," "The Boys," and "Upload," reported The Verge. Other studios are also likely to take part in the event, but there haven't been announcements yet.

AMC Networks was the first to share their plans for the virtual Comic-Con, reported Variety. Panels for "The Walking Dead" are part of the network's plans.

DisneyTV also announced that they plan several panels for animated hits like "The Simpsons" and "Solar Opposites."

Blockbuster movies are due for release later this year and in early 2021, so fans are likely to see some stars come to the event.

Some movies to wait for are Black Widow, Godzilla v Kong, Jurassic World: Dominion, The Suicide Squad sequel, and Avatar 2.

It's not clear if SDCC's most number of attendees, Marvel Studios and Warner Bros., will be there, said a report from uDeadline. But the DC franchise fans will have to wait a little longer as the company said will hold their event later in the summer: "DC Fandome".

How Can You Attend?

Luckily, since Comic-Con's events this year will be virtually, the attendance of fans and enthusiasts will also be free of charge.

Since it's free, people don't have to wait patiently for tickets as well.                                        

Besides the short teaser, there isn't much information on how fans can be involved in the event. Clearer instructions can be expected once the event draws nearer.

Can We Expect Comic-Con Next Year?

The 2021 Comic-Con is slated for July 22-25, 2021, if all goes according to plan, and it is safe to return to the standard set-up for the event, reported Radio Times.

The organizers of the event knew that many await the convention each year. Many exhibitors depend on the events for a big part of their livelihood. They hoped to delay the 2020 cancellation decision hoping that COVID-19 health concerns will go down by summer.

"Continuous monitoring of health advisories and recent statements by the Governor of California have made it clear that it would not be safe to move forward with plans for this year," they said.
