This month strikes another bad news in the entertainment industry. This time, it is not about an actor or actress who died due to COVID-19 but presumed dead because of a boating accident. 

Former Glee star and talented actress Naya Rivera has been listed missing. Her tragic news became the headlines in the different news outlets in the past few days.

She was presumed dead in a boating accident. Luckily her young son Josey Hollis Dorsey is safe. Until now, authorities are already on their 4th day searching for Naya Rivera's body. 

Despite her fame and popularity, there are still things that you do not know about Naya Rivera.

Here are five things that you probably do not know about the Latina star: 

1. Her first significant role was at the age of 4

The same talent agent represented Naya Rivera as her mother. She was eight or nine-month-old at that time. However, her first significant role as a young actress was at the age of four when she played the role of Hillary Winston on the "Royal Family," which was a CBS sitcom. 

It was one of the most popular sitcoms at that time. Unfortunately, when one of its stars, Redd Foxx, passed away because of a heart attack, the sitcom started to fail to the point that it stopped. 

2. Naya Rivera's breakthrough was on Glee

After her significant role in the "Royal Family," she received minor characters in several series. However, her career breakthrough was in 2009 when she played the role of Santana Lopez on Glee. 

According to a published article on TV Over Mind, she auditioned for the role because she was interested, and at the same time, it would allow her to act, sing, and dance. To prepare for the role, she watched 'Mean Girls' to get into the right mood.

3. Naya Rivera's musical debut in 2013

Naya Rivera released a single called "Sorry" in 2013, which featured Big Sean. Rivera had been working with the Columbia Records to produce her single before the album was released. However, those plans fell for an unknown reason because, according to some sources, her first single had underperformed. Meanwhile, Naya Rivera denied this issue.

4. Naya Rivera is religious

Naya Rivera is a godly woman. She said that she was raised as a devout Christian. However, it was her choice to keep her religious views as a personal matter. She believed that if she were more open about it, she would be criticized by people who feel that she is not pure enough to become religious because of her career choice. 

5. Domestic battery incident

The Kanawha County Sheriff Office Department reported that alcohol contributed to the argument that broke out between Naya River and her husband. It can be remembered that she hit her husband on the head and lip. Meanwhile, Rivera's husband at that time asked privacy during their difficult times from the reporters.
