Some of the Hollywood celebrities invested in opening-up businesses. They are not just good at acting, but they are also wise in spending their hard-earned money. 

However, there are Hollywood celebrities who did not make it to succeed in their business ventures. Some of them encountered catastrophic failures. 

Here are some of the Hollywood celebrities and stars who failed in their business ventures, according to MSN News:

1. The Kardashian Sisters

The Kardashian sisters have earned millions of dollars because of the different businesses and their endorsements. However, they have one business that did not prosper. The Kardashian sisters tried to venture into prepaid debit cards, but it went down one month after in November 2010. This shutdown was after it criticisms over its astronomical fees.

2. Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington's, and Elle McPherson 

These supermodels launched their Fashion Cafe chain in the mid-1990s. They were able to open branches in London and New York. Unfortunately, their business did not last long. Their Fashion Cafe chain shut down in 1999. Their enterprise failed because their partners ended up arrested for fraudulent activities. 

3. Black Lively 

Black Lively ventured on a lifestyle website that she assumed would be successful, just like Gwyneth Paltrow. However, Black Lively's website shut down after one year after in 2014. 

4. Neil Young

Neil Young, a Canadian singer-songwriter, had a successful kickstart campaign and gained $6.2 million to fund his $400 hi-spec player and music service in 2014. However, the product did not sell well, and his streaming service shut down in 2017. 

5. Kim Basinger

Kim Basinger bought the entire town of Braselton, Georgia, for $20 million in 1988. She hoped to turn it into a movie-themed tourist attraction. However, her ambitious plan failed and ended up selling the town only for an amount of $1 million in 1994. A big mark-down from its original price, not including the expenses for the town's development. 

6. Curt Schilling

Former MLB star Curt Schilling invested his life savings in 2006 on his online gaming 38 studios. He named it after his jersey number. However, his business shut down in 2012, even if it got a $75 million grant from Rhode Island. The company went bankrupt, and he was out of cash and severely in debt. 

7. Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez has different businesses, but among these, there are two of which failed. Her Madre restaurant shut down in 2008, and her Sweetface fashion was discontinued one year after its disappointing sales. 

8. Kanye West

The rapper and designer Kanye West has been successful in his fashion line business. However, the clothing line he planned to release in the Spring of 2006 never got off the ground.

9. Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton had failed as well in business. She released a collection under the Dollhouse label in 2008. It featured garish T-shirts with her image, but critics and shoppers criticized it.

10. Steven Spielberg

Well-known and respected movie director Steven Spielberg may have earned millions through his movies. However, the nautical-themed restaurant he launched along with Jeffrey Katzenberg in 1994 did not last long. It was not so lucrative that its operation stopped in 1999.
