There are symptoms that everybody should not disregard because these signs will tell you that you have COVID-19. There are no signs that the virus is showing signs of weakness. The new strain of COVID-19 is more infectious, according to a published report in Business Insider.

The new Coronavirus Disease 2019 is distinct compared to other viruses. According to a published article in ETNT Health, around 40 percent of people infected with the virus are asymptomatic or do not show any signs or symptoms. Meanwhile, many have developed symptoms like cough, fever, and sore throat.

However, these are the symptoms that you should not disregard because these will whether you are positive with the virus, according to the experts.

1. Long-Lasting Fatigue or Brain Fog

Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, said that many COVID-19 patients reported feeling tired for a week, and they could not concentrate week before they were diagnosed.

Dr. Fauci added that even people who recovered from the virus could not return to their normal lives anymore. Many of them still experience chronic fatigue syndromes such as brain fog, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating.

2. Rashes

Andrew Chan, a professor of immunology and infectious disease at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, claimed that his COVID-19 Symptom Study app has detected what is known today as COVID fingers and toes.

He also added that many people today experience strange dermatological manifestations like rashes and inflammation on fingers and toes. If you have this symptom, you need to be extra careful to avoid possible transmission of the virus within your family.

3. A Dry Cough

A dry cough is a common sign of those who tested positive for the virus. If you have a dry cough along with a fever and have difficulty as well in breathing, then there is a big possibility that you are positive with the virus. A study conducted by CDC last month revealed that 43 percent of those who tested positive for the virus had experienced dry cough from 14 to 21 days after their diagnosis.

4. Loss of Smell or Taste

Not every one of those who tested positive with the virus experienced this. However, in a study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association, around 64 percent of people who have COVID-19 lose their sense of taste and smell.

The Centers for Disease Contol and Prevention also confirmed this study. They revealed in their survey that this symptom usually lasted a median time of eight days, but others experienced it for weeks.

5. Shortness of Breathing

This is commonly the first sign of those who tested positive for the virus. Shortness of breathing could linger for weeks and sometimes for months. This happens because the virus causes lung inflammation, and this damage can make a person hard to breathe. Most of the time, this leads to pneumonia or Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)

6. Heart Damage

Around three-quarters of people who tested positive with the virus had evidence of heart damage. A study related to this was even published in JAMA Cardiology. It was also found that COVID-19 can cause heart inflammation.

These are the six symptoms that everybody should not disregard, according to the health experts. If you experience one of these symptoms, then better isolate yourself. If it gets worse, call your doctor or local health personnel immediately to assist you in what to do.
