Washington D.C.-based journalist Scott MacFarlane has revealed Eric Cantor's campaign expenses.

In a series of tweets, MacFarlane showed where the money went.

It was hardly his only Starbucks-related expense. In early spring, he spent about $1,000 at the same Starbucks. Another tweet said:

MacFarlane said that Cantor’s meetings were catered by Whole Foods. And he was no slouch in the fashion department.

This fact has sparked criticism, as some have said that his cufflinks wouldn’t even be visible to others. A more telling Tweet compared Eric Cantor’s expenses with his opponent, David Brat.

The journalist went on to share pictures of the documents each candidate filed.

Cantor lost to college professor Brat. And experts have said that he neglected the people in Virginia. He suffered the consequence, though he was heavily favored.

“Eric Cantor lost this race as much as Dave Brat won it,” said CNN’s John King. “This is Eric Cantor’s fault. He was in Washington on primary day, not back in his district.”

Cantor denied King’s allegations.

“I was in my district every week, so there’s a balance between holding a leadership position and serving constituents at home but never was there a day did I not put the constituents of the 7th district of Virginia first,” he said.
