Trump's administration said that Democrats are not interested to discuss the second round of relief aid or the stimulus payment after a series of negotiations failed last week.

Pres. Donald's Trump high ranking officials U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows have been discussing the second round of stimulus payment with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer since last week.

However, when the negotiation failed after a series of talks, the Republicans did not agree with the provisions offered by the Democrats that are stipulated in the Republican-led HEALS Act. This led Pres. Trump issue four executive orders on Saturday to help millions of Americans who are heavily impacted by the global pandemic.

Pres. Trump expressed his support in the second round of the stimulus payment. While the Democrats are pushing for another $600 weekly unemployment claim, the Republicans offered $200 weekly unemployment aid and to give bonuses to Americans who will go back to work.

However, the second stimulus negotiation failed and led Pres. Trump to sign and issue an executive order that mandates the expansion of unemployment claim worth $400. The state will cover 25 percent or $100 of the said unemployment claim.

During an evening press briefing at the White House recently, Pres. Trump said the bill of the HEALS Act is not going to happen because Democrats do want to talk about it. Pres. Trump added this is because the Democrats are pushing for something the government cannot give.

The comments of Pres. Trump came hours after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin spoke for the first time in an attempt to close the stimulus negotiations. However, their conversation led to another round of finger-pointing as to who to blame for the failed negotiation.

Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi and Charles Schumer issued a statement and accused the administration of "refusing to budge." On the other hand, Mnuchin also released a statement accusing Pelosi of mischaracterizing their conversation and proclaimed that Democrats have "no interest in negotiating" according to a published article in the Washington Post.

The center of the negotiation between the Democrats and Republicans is to renew key parts of the $3 trillion CARES Act. However, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is pushing for $3 trillion which Trump's administration described as something ridiculous.

Since the negotiation failed last week, Pres. Trump ensures that Americans will have the help they need amid the economic fallout. He signed four executive orders on Saturday and that includes a $400 weekly unemployment claim, house eviction protection, freezing of student loans, and cutting payroll taxes.

Pres. Trump also mentioned that he is planning to make the executive order on payroll taxes permanent once he is elected again this November. Moreover, the fund for the weekly unemployment claim will be coming from the unspent budget in the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
