The collapse of the stimulus negotiations between the Republicans and Democrats after they did not find their common ground for the unemployment benefits led Pres. Trump signed and issued the executive order that expanded the unemployment claims.

Despite this, Trump's administration is looking for an opportunity to pass a newly revised coronavirus package or aid in the coming days. The House will return in Washington to vote for the Postal Service funding. According to the top White House Official, the proposal will give relief aids until the end of this year.

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows told the reporters on Wednesday that the two sides of the Republicans and the Democrats are closer to cutting down a new relief deal. This is after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called back lawmakers to vote on a bill that will fund the U.S. Postal Service.

Meadows said, "If Speaker Pelosi moves forward a single bill on postal ... let's add in the things we can agree upon," The White House Chief of Staff is referring to renew the push for a new agreement between the two sides this week that will help millions of Americans who are heavily impacted by the global pandemic.

However, the proposed new relief package from the Republican Senators is smaller. This includes $300 unemployment benefit that will last until the end of this year, another round of Paycheck Protection Program fr businesses, and an additional $10 billion for the U.S. Postal Service and liability protections according to a published article in POLITICO.

The new proposal is smaller and does not include the $1,200 stimulus checks. However, Meadows suggested that White House officials and the Democrats could pass a bill that prioritizes funding for schools, the Paycheck Protection Program, and stimulus checks before focusing on more divisive measures.

One of the contentions between the two parties is the cost of their proposal. The Democrats and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pushed for $3 trillion under the HEROES Act, while the Republicans are pushing for $1 trillion. The White House and Republicans stick with the amount due to the growing concerns of the nation's growing deficit.

It can also be remembered in the previous report of Latin Post that the White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows recently challenged the lawmakers to go back to Washington and discuss on the floor the second stimulus package.

This is after the Democrats decry Pres. Trump for possible lesser funding for the USPS due to the possible election fraud. The Postmaster-General is quite adamant for the mail-in voting because people might receive mails to vote even if they did not request it, including those who have already died.

Meanwhile, Democratic Senator Tim Kaine said on Wednesday that the Republicans and the Democrats would work together to come up with a new deal that includes stimulus payments. The negotiations might be after the Republican convention next week.

Kaie said "I actually think there is going to be some motive to really get down to the brass tacks right after the Republican convention," Moreover, the Senate is scheduled to return on from recess on Sept.8 while the Congress is on Sept.14.
