Dating has become even more difficult in this time of the global pandemic. Many would like to set romantic dates but cannot have it because of restrictions. Dating is significant, most especially for those who are still in the process of knowing each other.

The global pandemic should not stop people from loving and showing how much they love the person they admire. Love should defeat the odds of the worldwide pandemic. These are the tips and new rules of dating amid the global pandemic to make sure that both of you are safe, according to The New Yrk Times:

1. Make No Assumptions

The first rule you always have out in your mind is not to assume that the woman or man you are dating is COVID-19 negative. Always remember that everyone around you is susceptible to the virus. This means that the one you are dating could carry the virus.

Instead of having an in-person dating, you can get into the process of knowing each other by maximizing the technology like social media. You can talk and know each other through a video call and constant messaging. Though. in-person is still better, but we will have it this way for the meantime for virus protection purposes.

2. Wear A Mask

If you plan to meet each other, you have to make sure to wear a mask. It does not mean that each of you has already built trust, then you will comfortably have a date without wearing a mask. Remember, you only know who he/she is, but you never knew where he/she came from.

Chances are, the person you are dating was exposed to someone who tested positive for the virus. You always need to be ten steps ahead against the virus. Only remove the mask when you are about to eat together. Choose to wear a mask while talking with him/her.

3. Have A COVID-19 Test

The best way to make that the person you will be dating is not positive for the virus is to ask him/her to take the COVID-19 test. In this way, you will be assured if he/she is positive for the virus before you meet in person.

This applies to those who are still in the process of knowing each other and to those who are already in a relationship and are planning to have a date. If you value your relationship, make sure that both of you are not positive for COVID-19.

Don't forget to be patient. As per WashingtonPost,  with the pandemic going on, things would be at a much lower pace so Matchmaker Tammy Shaklee says, "patience, tenacity, and duration" should be applied.

These are just a few of the safety measures that you should observe if you plan to have a date with someone you love. If you love that person, make sure that you are not carrying the virus, and your partner is not positive for the COVID-19.
