Pres. Donald Trump has always expressed that he is willing to give a stimulus package that is bigger than the amount that Republicans and Democrats can offer. Trump even posted this on his social media account: "GO BIG" and urged Pelosi to act on it immediately.

During an interview with Charles Benson of WTMJ4 Milwaukee on Saturday, Trump said that he might intervene if Republican lawmakers will not support the second stimulus package worth trillions of dollars or more than $2.2 trillion. Trump wants to sign into law the new stimulus package as early as this week.

When the president was asked if will there be more money aside from $1.8 trillion before the election, Trump answered, "I want the money by tonight, but Nancy Pelosi doesn't want to approve it because she thinks it's good politically for her not to approve it... She wants to bail out poorly run Democrat states. And we don't want to do that. I don't think she wants to approve it anyway."

Trump also added that even if he will give stimulus money that will benefit Democrat-run states, Pelosi will still choose not to approve it.

This means that Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is just playing politics right at the start of the negotiation.

Amid the continuous negotiation and some speculations that the Republican lawmakers will resist on a bigger stimulus, Pres. Trump said that he will take care of that problem. Trump is confident that he can convince enough number of Republicans to support his larger stimulus.

He also reiterated during the interview that he could quickly convince the Republicans to approve the bigger stimulus. However, he believes that Pelosi will again find another way to reject the stimulus. The Democratic state governors will tell Pelosi to strike the deal just like what other Republican lawmakers did.

Stimulus check might boost Trump's re-election?

Meanwhile, Pres. Trump firmly believed that Pelosi wants to pass another stimulus package after the election. Pelosi might be afraid that passing another relief aid as the election nears might boost the presidential bid of Trump.

However, the president is not afraid if that is Pelosi's plan because for him, her action is not just hurting millions of Americans but also her colleagues in her party who have been clamoring for another stimulus.

According to a published article in Fox News, Pres. Trump emphasized that the stimulus he is going to offer is more than the amount the Pelosi offered. He was quoted saying: "I'd go higher than her number."

The negotiation for another stimulus might be sealed as early as Tuesday this week. President Trump wants to sign the stimulus bill this week while Pelosi is giving the White House 48 hours to strike the deal. One thing is just for sure, it will be higher than the amount Pelosi offered.
