Trump's 5 Winning Policies That Revive US Manufacturing

Pres. Donald Trump imposed policies that gave an advantage to American citizens and workers during the first term of his administration.

Pres. Donald Trump has signed and imposed different policies to ensure that Americans and immigrant workers will greatly benefit in terms of jobs during his administration.

It cannot be denied that the U.S. was at its economic prime before the pandemic or during Trump's administration.

One of the winning key points of Pres. Donald Trump in the upcoming election was the policies he made in the U.S. manufacturing sector.

It did not only helped workers in the manufacturing industries but also created more jobs in the country and has fulfilled his promise to "Make America Great Again."

According to a published report in Breitbart, these are some of the policies that lift the manufacturing industry under the Trump administration.

1. Withdrawal of Trans-Pacific Partnership

The Trans-Pacific Partnership, also known as TTP, was a negotiation under Pres. Barrack Obama's period. However, the negotiation did not protect U.S. jobs or even give opportunities to different businesses in the country.

Critics said that more than 400,000 jobs were lost under the TPP. This led Pres. Trump to withdraw from the partnership during his third day in the office to make sure that Americans will be prioritized and businesses in the country will be given attention.

2. Trump Pulls Out of the Paris Climate Agreement

The Paris Climate Agreement would have greatly hampered U.S. factories and businesses while allowing China to continue record-levels of pollution. Meanwhile, Pres. Donald Trump announced on June 1, 2017, the withdrawal of the country in agreement so that U.S. companies can maximize their production.

3. Protecting Washing Machine and Solar Panel Producers

On January 22, 2018, Pres. Trump approved global safeguard tariffs on $8.5 billion in imports of solar panels and $1.8 billion of washing machines. This ensures that the importation of washing machines and solar panels will be controlled and to ensure also that American products will be prioritized.

4. Saving American Aluminum and Steel

The Trump administration conducted an investigation and they found out a global glut of metals. They also added that the overproduction in China imperiled the U.S. capacity to produce steel and aluminum.

On March 1, 2018, Trump announced tariffs on all trading partners of 25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminum under national security grounds. Pres. Trump also signed the tariff order a week after.

5. Enacting Phase One of Trade Agreement With China

This is one of the great initiatives under the Trump administration this year. This agreement required China to purchase an additional $200 billion worth of U.S. exports while almost all of the Trump administration's tariffs remain effective. The agreement between China and the U.S. was signed on January 15, 2020.

These are just a few of the initiatives that Pres. Trump and his administration made during his first four years. His top priorities were to make sure that Americans, immigrants, and U.S. businesses will first be given opportunities in job creation and business productions.
