Financial Benefits You Could Still Receive Even Without Stimulus Check
Americans are hoping for the second round of stimulus checks. It has been a lifeline for many of them. However, you could get other financial benefits if the stimulus check won't be included in the next round of COVID-19 relief package.
According to The Sun, talks have stalled since June. But now that the presidential election is over, discussions are likely to pick up again. Before the year ends, Congress has a few days to agree on another relief package.
An increasing number of leaders are calling on lawmakers to pass a short-term relief package. Others recommend that the second stimulus payment may not be needed since the COVID-19 vaccines and a return to everyday life appears to be on the horizon. Here are the other financial benefits you could receive, as per The Sun:
Unemployment aid
Those unemployed could still benefit more money from federal unemployment aid after the CARES Act authorized an additional $600 per week in unemployment money for out-of-work individuals in March.
In July, President Trump signed an executive order extending payments through the end of the year with an extra $300 per week.
As high as 20 million unemployed workers claim benefits, and renewal of unemployment assistance could help millions of people pay for food, rent, or other essentials.
Small Business Boost
The Payroll Protection Program (PPP), a part of the CAREs Act, is another benefit you could get without the second stimulus check. PPP was designed to help workers stay employed by giving loans to small businesses to continue paying wages.
Those working for small businesses are more likely to keep their jobs. Both Democrats and Republicans pushed for the renewal of the program that targets the hardest-hit small companies.

Renter protection
With the CARES Act, including a 120-day moratorium on evicting renters who are late on paying rent, it could be good news for them.
Until December 31, the moratorium was renewed by Trump after studies show one in five renters could not keep updated rent during the pandemic. The executive order may be able to be pushed through by the president-elect Joe Biden. It would mean that the President of the United States issues orders to stop landlords from evicting tenants.
Tenants could be safe from eviction if they could not pay rent on time, but there are still other reasons for them to lose their homes.
Will you get a stimulus check before December ends?
CBS News reported that lawmakers could still pass a scaled-down stimulus bill on November 30, when they return to Washington D.C.However, several economists believe it is unclear to match the CARES Act signed in March, which provided $1,2000 stimulus checks to most Americans.
Both parties remain far apart on different vital issues, such as funding hundreds of billions for states and cities that have been hit by the declining tax revenues due to the pandemic.
It could take weeks for the IRS to electronically deposit the funds into Americans' bank accounts if Congress passes an aid bill early next month. Besides, it took one to three months for most Americans before they had their first round of stimulus check after the bill was signed into law.
