The year 2020 has been a challenging time for most of us due to the global pandemic. This brought a negative impact on almost all parts of the world.

During this time, thousands of less fortunate families in the United States are struggling to stay afloat. Most of them depend on the government for financial aid.

Despite the trials that we all encountered this year, there are still people around who are willing to help. A Secret Santa in Arizona who chose not to be identified handed out cash to the residents in the area. This surprised many people as they received the envelope full of cash.

Residents received cash in envelopes

According to Breitbart, the residents were delighted with this unexpected kind gesture.

"Five, six, seven, one thousand dollars. Oh wow, one thousand dollars! I was not expecting this," said of the recipients. One also said that she was just shopping at the Goodwill when she received thousands of cash in an envelope.

The report added that the Secret Santa has been doing this around the state. He was randomly giving thousands of dollars to people on the street.

The donor or the man they called the Secret Santa does not want to be identified, but Cherie Hoover is taking on the role of Secret Santa's elf by helping the man handing out the money.

In a Twitter post from Linda Fox 10, she wrote "Secret Santa Project!" A valley businessman sends out "Cherie the elf" to surprise random people with an envelope of cash! I went along with Cherie for the fun! She surprised this couple at a Mesa @GoodwillAZ! More fun at 5!"

Hoover also said that the man was just super blessed this year even amid the pandemic that he wanted to pay it forward in the community where he lives.

However, Hoover did not give too much information about the man who handed out money.

A couple who received the money said that they will use it to pay it forward also to others who are in need, according to KSAZ.

It cannot be denied that the global pandemic has affected millions of individuals and families. Millions also are unemployed until today.

Other inspiring acts of kindness amid the pandemic

There are other reports that there are other people who are handing out cash amid the pandemic, but the man in Arizona gives the largest amount. In East Idaho, there is an anonymous donor that has been giving away gifts from large sums of money to cars to people who are in need.

It is good to know that there are still some people who are willing to help even amid the pandemic. Though the amount might not suffice for the rest of the days, but this way people can feel the spirit of Christmas. In this time of the pandemic, it is important to show a selfless act.

This act somehow helps people who received the cash to smile despite the financial and economic challenges everyone is facing.
