President Donald Trump announced on Sunday afternoon that his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The president made the announcement on Twitter, saying: "[Giuliani], by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC...has tested positive for the China Virus. Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!"

Trump said Giuliani had been "working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA" before contracting the coronavirus.

Being 76 years old, the New York City mayor is at a higher risk category of contracting the coronavirus.

A report from New York Times stated that he is receiving treatment from the Georgetown University Medical Center.

Giuliani Was Front and Center in Election Legal Challenge

According to Daily Wire, Giuliani's son, Andrew, who served as a public liaison assistant to Trump also tested positive of the virus nearly two weeks ago.

Despite the exposure, Giuliani chose to skip quarantine and push forward with the administration's ongoing battle in several battleground states regarding the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Fox News said that, at the time, the senior Giuliani did not test positive of the virus.

So far, judges have dismissed cases in Nevada, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

When he was asked by "Sunday Morning Futures" host Maria Bartiromo why he thinks the media hasn't explored the allegations of voter fraud, Giuliani said that "he wishes he knew the answer."

"Part of it is bias, part of it is corruption, part of it's laziness, part of it is just inexplicable," he said.

Giuliani led numerous hearings and press conferences aimed at proving that there was substantial fraud in the election.

He also went to a Michigan hearing four days prior to his diagnosis with Trump's senior legal adviser Jenna Ellis, reported Daily Caller.

Attendance during the hearing was limited, but several of the people in the courtroom-including Ellis and Giuliani-were maskless.

He also went to hearings in Georgia over the past few days, marking him as the latest figure in the president's close circle to test positive of the virus.

Giulian Said He Was Getting 'Great Care', 'Feeling Good'

Shortly after Trump announced the diagnosis, Giuliani said he was "getting great care and feeling good."

In a tweet, he said he was "recovering quickly and keeping up with everything."

He also appeared to be fine when he he talked about the Trump campaign's legal battle elections with Bartiromo.

Andrew also confirmed his father's diagnosis on Twitter, writing: "My Dad is resting, getting great care and feeling well."

More from Trump's Inner Circle Contracted Coronavirus

It has been two months since President Trump first announced that he tested positive for the coronavirus.

Since then, several people in the White House or who were in close contact with the president announced that they also contracted the coronavirus.

Some other close individuals from the president's inner circle who contracted the virus were first lady Melania Trump, his sons Barron and Donald Trump Jr., Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, campaign manager Bill Stepien, former counselor Kellyanne Conway, and several members of the Secret Service.
