Many Latinos and Latinos are currently invading the Hollywood industry, but did you know that telenovelas played a vital role in their road to fame? Here are some Latino stars who starred in telenovelas.
Telenovelas have become part of the Latino family. Everyone in the family most especially the abuelas and tias enjoy the dramatic lines. They also have their own favorite Latino and Latina actors in different telenovelas. The telenovela industry has also become a part of Latino culture.

Here are some of Latinos and Latinas who made a name in the Telenovela industry before chasing Hollywood stardom, according to We Are Mitu:
1. Sofia Vergara
Sofia Vergara started out playing the character of Irasema in a 1995 telenovela called "Acapulco, Cuerpo y Alma," After it, she became a household name when she was cast as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on "Modern Family"
2. Salma Hayek
Almost everyone knows about Salma Hayek. In fact, she is one of the most beautiful and influential Latina actresses so far. She is best remembered in her role when se starred in a 1989 telenovela called "Teresa", where she played a poor young woman who used her smarts and beauty to enter a world of luxury. Today, Salma Hayek is already known as an Oscar-nominated A-list actress
3. Diego Boneta
Diego Boneta was famous for his roles in "Alegrijes y rebujos", "Misión S.O.S, and "Rebelde" before landing roles on "90210" "Scream Queens" and "Pretty Little Liars". He was one of the most in-demand Latino actors before he crossed over into American TV shows.
4. Diego Luna
If you are an avid fan of Star Wars then you might have seen him already in one of its series. Diego Luna is one of the actors in the Star War movies. But you have to know also that Diego Luna appeared as a young boy in Mexican telenovelas "El abuelo y yo", "El premio mayor" and "La vida en el espejo".
5. Jaime Camil
Jaime Camil's most famous role was as sexy executive Don Fernando Mendiola "La fea más bella". He was a telenovela heartthrob before he made a name in the Hollywood industry as Rogelio de la Vega on "Jane the Virgin".
6. Rodrigo Santoro
He is a well-known Brazilian actor who starred in titles like "Explode Coração", "O Amor Está no Ar", "Suave Veneno". Today, Santoro is known as the Latin heartthrob in "Love, Actually".
7. Eiza Gonzalez
Eiza Gonzalez was a telenovela teen queen. González starred in the telenovela cindererlla retelling "Lola: érase una vez" in a total of 224 episodes. She got her big American break in 2017's "Baby Driver".
8. Karla Souza
Karla Souza is known for her role in the United States with "How To Get Away With Murder". Before she made a big career in the country, she was a famous Mexican actress Karla Souza starred in the telenovela "Verano de amor".
9. Kate del Castillo
Kate del Castillo became a bonafide crossover hit through "Bad Boys For Life". This is because she was known as the La Reina of telenovelas who got her start on "Muchachitas".
10. Edgar Ramirez
Edgar Ramirez quickly became an amateur favorite in English language films like "Domino", "Vantage Point", and "Che". This year, he starred in the highly successful HBO series "The Undoing". He was born in Venezuela and appeared in the hit telenovela "Cosita rica" that aired from 2003-2004.
