Miss Mexico Aspirant Found Dead in Her Home Weeks Before the Contest

A contestant for the upcoming Miss Mexico beauty pageant has been found dead in her home.

Ximena Hita's death remains to be a mystery to investigators.

However, police fear that she may have taken her life just weeks before the contest, according to The Sun report.

Hita was found dead after posting a "Merry Christmas" message on her Instagram.

Police spokesman Mario Garci said that further investigations have to be conducted before anything can be confirmed.

The Attorney General's office has said forensics team are working to determine if foul play was involved in her death.

Hita did not only focus on modeling as she also worked as a paramedic and was studying to become a nurse in the city of Aguascalientes.

A group of paramedics she worked with was seen to during her funeral in uniform to say goodbye to the aspiring beauty queen.

Miss Mexico Organization issued a statement following the tragic new of the Hita's death.

The organization offered their condolences to Hita's family.

"Ximena, we will always remember you; thank you for all your love in favor of building an inclusive society with values, we will carry your legacy forever," the organization's statement was quoted on a Meaww report.

Ximena had won Miss Aguascalientes in 2019 and had thereby qualified for Miss Mexico 2021, which is scheduled to take place on March 13.

Some of her fellow beauty pageant contestant expressed their condolences.

Miss Baja California Daniela Flores said that one does not know the great pain and emptiness that Hita's death have brought in their hearts.

Miss Mexico City, Jessica Farjat, said that Hita had left inspiration in each person, saying that she was a queen lighting up the sky.

Cause of Death

In her Christmas message to her followers, she wished her social media followers a lot of love, peace, and a lot of patience in every challenge that comes in their way.

Her death was confirmed last Friday, Jan. 1.

Mario García, a member of the Department of Social Communication of the Municipal Public Security Secretariat, did the confirmation and indicated that the cause of death would have been a drug intake.

However, the final report from the authorities and the issuance of a statement confirming the official cause of death is still missing.

With this, many claims and allegations have been spreading in different media.

Some claimed that Hita's death was due to strangulation by tying a cord from a curtain rod to her neck in a bedroom at her home.

Some alleged that the beauty queen hopeful's death was due to an intake of drugs, according to an Infobae report.

The General Directorate of Expert Investigation, staff of the Homicide Group of the State Attorney General's Office, as well as authorities that conducted evidence surveys are working together to identify the cause of death.

The Forensic Medical Service are also part of the team working on to unravel Hita's cause of death.

The group was also working together to verify whether Hita's death was suicide or it was homicide.
