Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Upset for Fake Spanish Roots Issue

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin are recently facing an issue about Hilaria's heritage, with the social media questioning her Spanish heritage.

A source close to the couple and the family that they are very upset about allegations on Hilaria's identity and background after social media claimed that she has exaggerated her connection to Spain, according to an ET Online report.

The Baldwin couple are parents to five kids aged between seven-years-old and three months old.

The source added that the controversy has affected Hilary and her family, adding that Hilaria is such a soft-spoken, kind, and loving person.

"The harassment and hate that she has been receiving on social media has been a lot for her," the source was quoted on a report.

The source also noted that Alec has always known that Hilaria is from Boston. However, the actor said during David Letterman's late-night talk show in 2013 that his wife from Spain.

Alex even impersonated his wife talking on the phone with an accent during at that certain interview. He then added that he does not mean to be racist when he put that accent.

Hilaria's Spanish Heritage

Journalist and podcaster Tracie Egan Morrissey took to her Instagram Story to share her posts examining Hilaria's alleged claims of her Spanish roots.

Morrissey put into question whether or not she had misrepresented her ethnic and cultural background.

Hilaria was not born in Spain, but in Massachusetts. However, her parents and her brother now live in Spain, which she frequently traveled throughout her childhood.

Hilaria said that she is bilingual and speaks English with different tones of Spanish accent depending on how she is feeling at the moment, according to an Irish Times report.

Hilaria then clear every misunderstandings about her said heritage.

Hilaria said that she is born in Boston and spent some time in Boston and in Spain. She added that her family now lives in Spain and she moved to New York when she was 19-years-old and have lived there ever since.

"For me, I feel like I have spent 10 years sharing that story over and over again," she was quoted on a report.

She added that now it seems like the time she spent there was not enough.

Hilaria added that she made her Boston heritage clear to her husband when they met in 2011. She was speaking in Spanish to an Argentine man and his girlfriend who were seated at a table next to Alec.

Meanwhile, Hilaria's sister-in-law Chynna Philipps is defender her against the fake Spanish roots claims. Philipps said that her sister-in-law, Hilaria, is a good woman, adding that no one is perfect as all have their own issues, according to a Daily Mail report.

Meanwhile, an old blog post written by her father in 2015 showed that she got her love her Spain from her dad. David L. Thomas Jr. earlier wrote about his fascination with Spain on International Integrator's website, which is a company he founded with his wife.

Hilaria was also known to adopt the Spanish version of Hillary as her name for years.
