Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice: Jason Momoa to Star as Aquaman
Former "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa will play Aquaman in the highly anticipated film "Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice," Hollywood Life reports.
"Dawn of Justice" is set to release on May 6, 2016. Momoa will join its already star studded cast that includes Ben Affleck, who plays Batman in the film, Henry Cavill, who will play Superman, and Gal Gadot, will portray Wonder Woman in the Superman sequel.
Other cast members starring in the action-packed film include Laurence Fishburne, Holly Hunter, and Jesse Eisenberg.
Although Warner Brothers has yet to make an official announcement on the Aquaman casting, Hit Fix is claiming that they know for sure that Momoa will take on the role.
Hit Fix also revealed that the film's director, Zack Snyder has finished the designs for Aquaman so that shooting can take place very soon.
Despite the announcement, Momoa still remains tight-lipped about his connection to the film. IGN reports that when they interviewed the 34-year-old actor in January, he denied taking part in the film.
"It's just rumors. I want to say something amazing, but I can't comment on rumors. It's flattering," Momoa told IGN. He later added, "I'm not involved in it."
Jason Momoa is an American actor, model, director, writer and producer. In 2005 he played the role of Ronon Dex on the military science fiction TV series "Stargate: Atlantis."
Momoa is best known for his recent role on "Game of Thrones" as Khal Drogo, where he co-starred opposite Emilia Clarke (as Khaleesi) until he was killed off in Season 1.
"Road to Paloma" is Momoa's first film as director, writer, and producer. He also stars as the lead role in the movie that is set for a release in July 11, 2014.
