Viewers of President Joe Biden's official swearing-in ceremony noticed a shocking livestreamed inauguration glitch as the 46th president of the United States delivered a speech.

Millions around the world were watching the ceremony from the safety of their own homes. Some noticed that as Biden was delivering his inauguration speech, the feed for CBSN cut abruptly for a few seconds.

It returned with a pixelated feed of Biden delivering his address. Some believe this inauguration glitch was just a rendering problem and noticed a minute-long delay upon switching feeds of Biden's speech.

The inauguration glitch appeared to be the only problem with the event as there were no disruptions at the Capitol, noted Crime Online.

Inauguration Glitch Stuns Viewers

The few second of what can only be deduced as a rendering error in the livestream had many people on social media panicking.

There were also videos and screenshots taken of the inauguration glitch which, if looked at for just a short time, appeared to be a bloody sight. The left side of the feed where Biden's head was appeared red and pixelated, and some thought it was a wound on the newly-sworn in president's head.

"Suffice it to say I've never had such a moment of panic over a political event," a Twitter user said.

"Apparently there was so. Much WiFi noise, streaming traffic & military communications yesterday that most people suffered drop outs," Twitter user Paul Lund said.

Kentucky-based artist Devon also said it is "likely just a bad render" but also noted that it "seem[ed] odd given the timing and just how noticeably jarring the effect is."

They noted that the colors of the distortion did appear to be accurate to coloring of an open wound.

CBS did not respond to requests for comments on the distortion so far, and whether it was a result of a rendering error for the live feed.

Joe Biden Sworn-in At Highly-Secured Ceremony

Two weeks prior, a mob formed at the Capitol as Congress was set to confirm electoral votes for Biden.

This incident, now popularly known as the Capitol riot on January 6, led to anxieties that the Inauguration Day may be disrupted as well.

As reported by The Associated Press, troops in riot gear lined the sidewalks during Biden's inauguration ceremony. However, there were no crowds.

Fencing was also seen in some of the nation's familiar landmarks, the news site added.

Biden was sworn in with a limited guest list and at a highly-secured ceremony. All attendees wore masks in accordance to safety guidelines.

Only a few arrests were made but they were scattered and made no serious disruptions in the city.

During his speech, Biden said the nation is in "a time of testing."

He said with the ongoing pandemic, "growing inequity", systemic racism and a climate crisis, America was given "the gravest responsibilities we've had."

But he did not dwell on a myriad of problems and instead called for unity, said a report from Voice of America.

As other presidents have pledged in the past, Biden promised to serve not just those who voted for him but also those who opposed him. He also told them "disagreement must not lead to disunion."
