Last week, it was reported that "Star Wars: Episode 7" actor, Harrison Ford had been taken to the hospital because of an ankle injury while filming on set.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 71-year-old actor injured himself by the door of the Millennium Falcon, the spacecraft that Ford's character, Han Solo, pilots in the original films.

Though initially there were not many specifics surrounding what exactly happened to Ford and how severe his injuries were, it was assumed that Ford had a minor injury.

But as it turns out now, Ford's ankle injury is much more serious than expected.

The NY Daily News reported that Ford may not be able to film on the Star Wars set for another six to eight weeks.

Ford was reportedly air lifted from the set on the day of his accident and may even need surgery to add a plate and screws to his ankle bone.

On the day of his accident last Thursday, the Millennium Falcon door fell on Ford and crushed him, The Daily Mail reported. In addition to his ankle, the door may have also done some damage to his chest and pelvis.

Given the severity of his injury, Ford may only be shot from the waist up once he returns but that still remains to be confirmed.

Despite the setback of Ford's injuries, "Star Wars Episode 7" has continued shooting, but a source from The Mirror recently admitted that shooting has proven to be very challenging given the loss of one "Star Wars" key players.

"The initial day or two after the accident it was hard to move things around, but now we have had more time we can juggle things, bring some scenes forward and push others back," The Mirror Source said. "There are lots of other actors in the movie so it is not a disaster. We are confident the film can stay on schedule."

So far, Ford remains hospitalized at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. His wife Calista Flockhart is currently staying by his side at the hospital. In other "Star Wars" news, there may be a new breed of villains that will make their debut on the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode 7" movie.

According to MakingStarWars.net, "The bad guys in Star Wars: Episode VII are being called 'Jedi Hunters' by people working on and around the film. These are scary individuals, dressed in black, some helmeted, that hunt Jedi for the Empire."

Though the "Jedi Hunters" have yet to be confirmed by Lucasfilms or Disney, Making Star Wars claimed that the hunters will definitely be making an appearance in the movie.

The Star Wars site also claims that Lupita Nyong'o, Adam Driver and David Oyelowo are making up the cast of "Jedi Hunters."

Lupita might even wear "yellow contact lenses" in the film as she was seen trying them out and walking around with them on set.

"Star Wars: Episode 7" comes out on Dec. 18, 2015. Will you be watching?
