Despite his successful stint in the NBA G League under the Santa Cruz Warriors, the Bay Area native Jeremy Lin posted an emotional message on his social media account, hinting at a possible retirement.

Without entirely stating it, Jeremy Lin posted the message on Twitter after several players joined NBA teams, and he remained unsigned.

The heartfelt message got the nod not only from the league but also in the entire basketball scene. But Lin did not make any official retirement statement.

Jeremy Lin posted the message after playing for the Beijing Ducks in the CBA or the Chinese Basketball Association and nine games for Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League during the 2020-21 season.

According to NBC Sports, the Bay Area native wrote in his social media account that after a season in the CBA where he surpassed the mental barriers from the past, he knew that he was still an NBA player. He also shared the reason why he played in the CBA and even in the G League.

Lin shared that NBA teams have asked him if he still had it. He said that NBA teams are not only looking for hunger and health but also the skill to hang in the NBA.

"They wanted to see me hoop in-person. So I gave up a season overseas to go down to the G League - a move few vets dare make," he added.

Lin further noted that he knew that he needed to push for an extra mile to prove that he belongs in the league. And for Lin, this was par for the course.

In his last season with the Ducks, Jeremy Lin averaged close to 23 points and 6 assists per game. The numbers he put up and his success level pushed Lin to make another NBA run. That's why he joined the G League. But unfortunately, the California native did not receive any offers from any NBA team.

Furthermore, Lin said he would never know if his chance will not materialize if he did not try. But for him, he already proved that he is better than ever and a qualified NBA player, CBS Sports reported.

He also mentioned that people should dream big dreams, risk heartache, and for him, he was blessed. Lin said that he had an NBA career beyond his wildest dreams, the luxury of taking a year to chase his dreams without worrying about bills to pay, SF Gate reported.

'Linsanity'

In 2010, Jeremy Lin made his debut in the NBA after going undrafted out of Harvard. Lin rose to prominence and earned his monicker "Linsanity" after putting the entire basketball world on the edge of their seats while leading the New York Knicks into a winning streak.

Also, Jeremy Lin is the first Asian-American NBA player to win a championship in the league when the Toronto Raptors beat the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals in 2019.

In his nine games with Santa Cruz, he averaged 19.8 points and 6.4 assists per game while shooting 50.5 percent from the field and close to 43 percent beyond the arc.
