Singer and actress Selena Gomez opened up about her past relationships and said that the experiences made her feel like she was cursed. Gomez said the comments during her interview with Vogue Australia, as she opened up about her "toxic relationships" and how she moved on after the breakups, according to a report from Geo News.

ET Online noted that the interview occurred ahead of her makeup line "Rare Beauty" in Australia.

Selena Gomez Felt "Less Than" During Her Past Relationships

"I think most of my experiences in relationships have been cursed," said Gomez in her interview with the magazine.

Furthermore, the former Disney star also noted that her previous relationships made her feel "less than" and she never felt "equal."

Selena Gomez had several relationships, including her famous one with singer Justin Bieber that officially ended in 2018.

Apart from getting real with her past relationships, Gomez also explained how much the word "rare" means to her, saying that the word was a "constant reminder" of how she wants to live her life.

"It wasn't even necessary like 'Oh, I feel that way, let me sing it,'" said the "Rare" singer, adding that she actually wants to feel that way about herself.

Apart from naming "rare" with her makeup line, the word was also the name of her last album and getting it inked on her neck.

Despite discovering the word that embodies her after all that she had been through, Gomez underscored that none of what she was doing right now would come from the mindset she had before.

"My best stuff is happening now. And then the greatest thing ever in my music was 'Lose You to Love Me,'" said Gomez. The American singer added that the song wasn't her best because everyone loved it, but because it was the "realization" of why she went through everything.

Selena Gomez's Boyfriends Through the Years

Apart from Justin Bieber, Gomez shared a relationship with other artists and co-stars. Popsugar noted that in 2015, Selena Gomez shared the story of her romance with Nick Jonas in 2008, saying that her relationship with Jonas was like a "puppy love."

In 2014, Gomez was reported to date David Henrie, her co-star in Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place. However, in 2017 Gomez attended Henrie's wedding.

Also in 2017, Selena Gomez dated The Weeknd for 10 months. Popsugar noted that the singers were caught kissing in L.A. and posted photos of each other on Instagram. The "Blinding Lights" singer and Gomez also had their red-carpet debut at Met Gala and had a puppy together.

Late last year, Gomez was reported to date Jimmy Buttler from NBA. However, an insider disclosed with ET Online that Gomez is not in a rush to start dating, saying that the singer knows herself well "at this point."

"She [Selena] wants to ensure that she's doing things to help her mental health and personal well-being," said the insider about what Selena Gomez feels about dating.
