Minnesota Woman Killed and Beheaded in Broad Daylight Caught in Video; Authorities Say Boyfriend Did It
A Minnesota woman has been killed and beheaded on a sidewalk, with the atrocious crime caught in the footage. A man has been arrested in connection to the crime, according to a Crime Online report.
Shakopee police responded to the area amid reports of a woman without a head being pulled out of a vehicle while a man was walking down an alley.
The victim was identified as 55-year-old America Thayer. She was found on a sidewalk and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thayer was found lying next to a vehicle. Her head was also found next to it. A knife and its sheat were found in a trash can in the alley, according to police. A shirt and bloody shoes were also recovered from the area.

The Suspect
Police had arrested Thayer's 42-year-old boyfriend. He was identified as Alexis Saborit, according to a New York Post report. Saborit was charged with second-degree murder, with previous convictions of gross misdemeanor domestic assault.
Meanwhile, there was a video circulating online that was showing the crime. Police said that they were aware that a bystander had taken a video of the incident.
Shakopee Police Chief Jeff Tate said that it is deeply disturbing that the first instinct was to post that on social media.
Investigators believe that Saborit knew Thayer and said that it was not a random attack.
Someone who lives near the area said that she thought she saw a body on the pavement, but she was not entirely sure, according to a Fox News report.
Carrol Erath said that it was shocking and that she could not believe that someone would be so brutal to somebody else.
The Victim
Thayer was working at the Dollar Tree and My Pillow. A co-worker said that she was in a long-term relationship with the suspect. The co-worker added that Thayer was being abused by his boyfriend.
Thayer was a Cuban immigrant, and friends said that she was hard-working, kind, and warm.
She was remembered as soft-spoken and always had amazing stories. One co-worker said that she has not met anyone as genuinely kind as her late grandma.
A vigil for Thayer was said to be planned for Thursday night.
Violence Against Women
Violence against women is a major public health problem and a violation of women's rights, according to The World Health Organization fact sheet.
Around the world, as many as 38 percent of all murders of women are committed by intimate partners.
In addition, six percent of women globally report having been sexually assaulted by someone other than their partners.
Lockdowns amid the pandemic had increased the exposure of women to abusive partners while also having limited access to services.
Forty-two percent of women who experience intimate partner violence had reported having injuries as a consequence of the violence.
Women's physical, mental, sexual, and reproductive health can also be affected as a result of violence.
