Netflix's Lucifer Season 6: Expect Returning Key Villain, Who Is it?
As Netflix's "Lucifer" nears its return in the streaming platform, a new key villain from the early episode of the franchise would return.
According to reports, Lucifer Season 6 would bring back interesting characters as well as plot points from the early run of the Netflix dramedy. One of the characters that fans would see in the sixth installment is the villain known as Jimmy Barnes.
Netflix's Lucifer Season 6: Jimmy Barnes Returns
Citing a report, CBR reported that an interview with Matt Webb Mitovich revealed that Lucifans can expect the return of Jimmy Barnes in the show.
However, Pop Culture noted that Barnes might not appear in season 6 as fans expected him to be. Citing promotional photos from episode three of "Lucifer's" season 6, the outlet underscored that Lucifer and Chloe Decker were shown watching a young boy named Jimmy in a hotel room. The young boy was also photographed in another snap sitting next to a woman identified as "Nancy Barnes."
The role of Jimmy Barnes was portrayed by actor John Pankow, who played the villain of the series' pilot episode. Barnes was known to kill Delilah, which was a good friend of the protagonist. After Barnes murdered Lucifer's friend, the protagonist sighed vengeance and taunted Lucifer to go insane after showing his demon form.
Barnes was also the bridge between Lucifer and Decker, as she was the one assigned to investigate the homicide.
Barnes was last seen in the second episode of the series entitled "Lucifer, Stay. Good Devil," after the said villain was imprisoned for his crime. Barnes did not appear in the series ever since until he was featured on a flashback in the fourth season of the series, in the episode entitled "Somebody's Been Reading Dante's Inferno."
Although speculations of Jimmy Barnes re-appearing in season six in the form of a child surfaced, details regarding Pankow re-appearing in the series were still not clear.
Netflix's Lucifer Season 6 was reported to be available on the streaming behemoth's platform on Sept. 10., which will mark the final season and end of the said series.
Netflix's Lucifer
Lucifer's story revolved around the unhappy Lucifer Morningstar, who abandoned his throne in hell and retired to Los Angeles, California. While partying and enjoying his retirement, a pop star was murdered outside of Lux, a nightclub he owns and manages. Lucifer then worked with Chloe Decker to solve the mystery of the pop star's murder.
The series was based on a character from DC/Vertigo Comics, which was created by Neil Gaiman, Mike Dringenberg, and Sam Keith. Originally, the series premiered on Fox in 2016, but the show was canceled after three seasons. In 2019, Netflix revived the series paving the way for its fourth season. The streaming behemoth then released Season 5A in 2020, while Season 5B this May.
Although Netflix only got credit for Lucifer's fourth and fifth season, seasons one, two, and three are available to be streamed on their platform.
