Elon Musk has welcomed a new baby with Grimes, with the announcement seemingly done accidentally.

The musician had invited writer Devin Gordon to her home in Austin, Texas in a new interview when the journalist heard a baby cry, according to an Independent report.

Gordon then asked if Grimes had another child apart from her one-year-old son with Musk, named X Æ A-12, whom she shares with the tech billionaire.

Grimes said at the time that she was not at liberty to speak "on these things." She added that she feels like she needs to stay out of whatever is going on with family stuff.

Grimes, with real name Claire Elise Boucher, admitted that she and Musk recently welcomed a baby girl, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk.

Exa was born through a surrogate, with the couple have nicknamed the baby "Y."

Grimes said that her new daughter is "colicky" and so was more usual to be crying. She also said that she does not know what she was thinking when she invited a journalist to her house.

Grimes said in a Vanity Fair interview that she and Musk were still together. She noted that there is no real work for it but that she would probably refer to the Tesla CEO as her boyfriend.

However, she said that they are very fluid and live in separate houses, according to a Rolling Stone report.

Grimes said that she and Musk are best friends and see each other all the time. She added that they just have their own thing going on and that she does not expect other people to understand the situation.

The singer added that they are planning to have more kids, saying that they have always wanted "at least three or four."

Grimes was pregnant with X in 2020 and said that she had a clear sense of the boy that he would turn out to be.

She said that she felt like X was going to be a "peaceful giant."

The singer talked about her time during her pregnancy with X, saying that she could not walk as he was pressing on her nerves, causing her to collapse.

Grimes said that she hemorrhaged at one point during the pregnancy, according to a Vanity Fair interview.

Last September, Grimes and Musk had split up, according to reports.

Musk said at the time that he and Grimes are "probably semi-separated." At the time, Musk was spending more time in Texas due to the operation of SpaceX and handling the opening of the new Tesla Gigafactory.

Meanwhile, Grimes was living in Los Angeles with X and was working on Book 1. She then relocated full-time to Austin around the time of her daughter's birth in December.

Close followers of Grimes on social media had recalled that she was definitely not pregnant during the latter months of 2021.
