'Encanto' Sing-Along Version Is Coming to Disney+: Here's What We Know so Far, Including Its Release Date
Walt Disney Animation Studios' critically acclaimed film "Encanto" will have a Sing-Along version of the movie that will be released on Disney+ Friday.
The Walt Disney Animation Studios' 60th feature won a BAFTA for Best Animated Film over the weekend. Disney announced the news in its 30-second teaser trailer, showing a bit more sophisticated than the follow-the-bouncing-dot version in the previous Sing-Along songs VHS tape.
The new version features more complicated visuals, with large graphics of the characters' names, and a zippier presentation, according to Comingsoon.net.
While watching the new Disney+ Sing-Along version of "Encanto," subscribers can read the on-screen lyrics and sing along to all their favorite songs from the movie, including "We Don't Talk About Bruno," "Surface Pressure," "Family Madrigal," "Dos Oruguitas," and more.
And what's more - there will be plenty of these special releases down the line. Subscribers can look forward to more Sing-Alongs on Disney+ later this year that will include a range of titles such as "Frozen," "Frozen 2," "Beauty and the Beast (1991)," and 2017's live-action "Beauty and the Beast" remake.
Households Watch 'Encanto' Five Times On Average
Disney+ reported that, on average, households have been watching "Encanto" five times, with over 180 million re-watches worldwide since it was launched on Christmas Eve last year.
The new Sing-Along version will allow fans to further immerse themselves in the magic of Encanto's music. While the feature was released in theaters around Thanksgiving, it caught the feels after appearing on Disney+.
The soundtrack album has topped Billboard's Hot 100 songs chart for weeks for a truly staggering amount of time.
Current Disney CEO Bob Chapek has referred to "Encanto" as "the newest Disney franchise" on two different earnings calls this year. And Mirabel has recently started waving to guests near Frontierland at Disneyland.
Next for "Encanto" is the Academy Awards on March 27, where it is up for Best Animated Feature, Best Original Score, and Best Original Song ("Dos Oruguitas").

'Encanto' Soundtracks Became a Smash
TikTok plays a key factor in "Encanto" and "Bruno." Shortly after it became available for streaming on Disney+ on Christmas Eve, fans shared their reflections and acted out scenes from the film, The New York Times reported.
Ken Bunt, president of the Disney Music Group, said people on TikTok originally posted that the characters look like him. It then fairly quickly moved into another phase, where people were doing the dances and singing, added Bunt.
After it sparked on TikTok, where videos captioned #wedonttalkaboutbruno have been viewed 3.5 billion times, "Bruno" and other soundtrack songs began to dominate Apple Music, Spotify, and other audio streaming outlets.
According to MRC Data, the tracking service used in compiling Billboard's charts, "Encanto" has sold just under one million copies in the United States since its debut.
Last week, "Encanto" outperformed rapper Kodak Black's new album "Back for Everything," Morgan Wallen's, Gunna's, and The Weeknd's album.
"Bruno" was replaced at No. 1 on the singles chart by Glass Animals' "Heat Waves," a song released nearly two years ago that was resurrected as a TikTok meme and recently received a fresh boost in the radio.
