Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Thanks Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis After Couple Fundraised Ukraine Aid
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to Hollywood couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher after the two conducted fundraising for Ukraine aid.
Kunis and Kutcher launched a campaign to raise donations and support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, where Kunis was born, according to a People News report.
Zelenskyy had acknowledged the couple for their efforts, saying that Kutcher and Kunis were among the first to respond to "our grief."
The Ukrainian president then said that the two had raised $35 million and are sending it to Flexport and Airbnb to help Ukrainian refugees.
Zelenskyy said that he is grateful for the couple's support, adding that he was also impressed by their determination.
Kutcher and Kunis commented on reaching their goal to fundraise Ukraine aid for Ukrainian refugees.
Kunis said that they are overwhelmed with gratitude for the support. She added that their collective effort will give a "softer landing" for so many people as they go on into their future of uncertainty, according to a Global News report.
Kutcher said that they are going to treat every dollar as if it is being donated out of their pocket as the funding continues to come in.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher Ukraine Aid
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have raised more than $34 million in donations for humanitarian aid to Ukraine and temporary housing for Ukrainian refugees.
Kunis was born in Ukraine in 1983 and moved to the United States when she was eight years old.
The "Bad Mom" actress said that Ukrainians are proud and brave people who "deserve our help in their time of need," according to a CNBC News report.
Kutcher and Kunis wrote that Flexport is organizing shipments of relief supplies to refugee areas in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Moldova.
The two added that Airbnb is providing free, short-term housing to refugees fleeing Ukraine.
The top contributors include billionaire Larry Ellison, who is the chairman of Oracle. He has donated $5 million.
Meanwhile, Silicon private equity firm DST Global contributed $3 million, with the family foundation DST partner Yuri Milner giving $2.5 million.
Fashion model Karlie Kloss with her husband, Josh Kushner, has donated $250,000 through their foundation.
Kushner is a venture capital investor and the brother of former U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Ukrainian Refugees
More than three million people have now fled Ukraine due to the Russian invasion, according to the United Nations.
Most of the refugees have gone to neighboring EU countries, according to a BBC News report.
People in the U.K. will be able to nominate an individual or family to stay with them rent-free or in another property for at least six months, under the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
Applications will be made online. Both hosts and refugees will be checked, with each host receiving $350 a month.
Over 100,000 people have signed up to provide accommodation during the first day of the program.
