The suspect and key person in the Orsolya Gaal murder, David Bonola, is believed to be an illegal immigrant living in the United States at the time of the killing. Bonola was reportedly from Mexico.

The new details in connection to Orsolya Gaal murder suspect were confirmed by the New York Police Department (NYPD) to the New York Post on Friday, claiming that Bonola was living in New York in violation of immigration law when he was busted on Gaal's tragic killing on Wednesday. However, it was unclear if Bonola had originally entered the country illegally or if he had any lawful status to stay in the United States, as NYPD declined to comment about it.

The NYPD claimed that Bonola entered the United States about 21 years ago from Mexico. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed to the Post that they lodged a detainer from Queens Central Booking, a place where the suspected murderer was placed.

Bonola was ordered to be held without bail on late Thursday at the Queen Criminal Court.

Orsolya Gaal Murder: Baristas Claim David Bonola Left 'Creepy' Notes for Them

On Thursday, baristas, who work at a local coffee shop where Bonola frequented, claimed that the suspected killer left them with creepy love notes, claiming that they called the cops on him many times, New York Post said in a separate report.

Olivia Pikulinski, a barista in the local Starbucks on Austin Street, said that Bonola would also leave songs he wrote about them in the tip jar that was present in the store.

Pikulinski also claimed one encounter where Bonola penned a love letter to one of her colleagues and put it in the tip jar. The suspected killer then wrote the name of her colleague on his headphones, which he wore while sitting in the café facing them towards the register.

"He would come up to us and ask for coffees and tell us that we looked pretty and make comments about how we look," Pikulinski underscored.

The barista also added that Bonola was "creepy," pointing out that the suspected killer stalked people. Pikulinski claimed that the Mexican man would ask them about their birthdays, age, and event details about where they lived and where they studied high school.

"It was personal information that a customer should never ask," the barista added.

Meanwhile, an NYPD spokesperson said that there were harassment complaints on file for the location where Pikulinski is working, but nothing matches Bonola, per the Post.

Orsolya Gaal Murder: How Is the Queens Mom Killed?

According to the Police, David Bonola and Orsolya Gaal were known to each other after the suspected killer did several jobs at Gaal's home on Juno street.

Cops claim that Bonola worked as Gaal's handyman, and the two had a romantic relationship for about two months. The Post noted that the two reconnected and re-sparked their relationship, but they broke up once again.

On Thursday, investigators revealed that Bonola went to Gaal's home on Saturday morning to talk about things, but when everything went sour, Bonola allegedly stabbed Gaal nearly 60 times in her basement using a kitchen knife.

According to The Daily Mail, the suspected killer then stuffed Gaal's body in her son's hockey bag. He then wheeled to Forest Hills in Queens until a dog walker discovered it the following day.

Authorities claimed that Bonola admitted to killing Gaal, prompting him to be charged with murder, criminal tampering and criminal possession of a weapon.
