COVIDtests.gov: More Free COVID-19 Test Kits Available on Federal Government Website | Here's How You Can Order
The federal government's COVIDtests.gov website has come back live once again, giving the public a chance to avail of more free COVID-19 test kits.
The website noted that the U.S. Postal Service will deliver eight free rapid antigen tests to any household in the United States that wants them, according to an NPR News report.
The free COVID-19 test kits' website appeared active on Monday, offering a third round of free COVID-19 tests without announcement.
The first round of free COVID-19 tests was sent out in January, allowing one household to avail of four kits. The second round was released in March, which also provided four COVID-19 tests per household.
Compared to the previous round, interested Americans who availed of the service will be sent double the number of tests, making it eight instead of four.
U.S. Postal Service said that households who availed of free COVID-19 kits will receive them in two separate packages, with the tracking numbers for each parcel.

The procedure to order COVID-19 tests is the same when it was first launched in January.
The Verge noted that interested individuals can go to the website, fill information details such as name and address, and the tests will be delivered straight to their mailboxes.
The order confirmation page stated that if you skipped any of the rounds in January and March, you will be able to place a second order.
A White House statement noted that USPS is usually shipping the at-home tests within seven to 12 days of receiving an order.
CNET reported that the free COVID-19 test kits are being delivered in the continental U.S. through First-Class Package Service.
Meanwhile, shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and military addresses are being sent through Priority Mail.
Pharmacies like Walgreens, Walmart, Rite Aid, and CVS also offer at-home rapid COVID-19 tests. Online retailers like Amazon also offer the product.
However, many pharmacies had put a limit on how many COVID-19 test kits customers could buy during the rise of the Omicron variant in December and January. Both Walgreens and CVS ended those limits in early February.
U.S. President Joe Biden Launching COVIDtests.gov
The Biden administration has launched the one-stop-shop website to address the issue of access to test kits, vaccines, and masks while giving residents the latest updates on COVID-19 in their area.
The White House news release also noted the associated call line to help people locate and make appointments at vaccine sites near them.
The COVIDtests.gov website also offers information about where to find free high-quality masks and where to access COVID-19 treatments.
The website will be available in English, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese. It is also accessible for those using assistive technologies.
In addition, the Biden administration has made all COVID-19 tools available over the phone through the National Hotline at 1-800-232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489).
The hotline supports over 150 languages.
As part of the administration's COVID-19 response, the Biden administration also launched a new Test-to-Treat locator tool to provide lifesaving drugs.
