Johnny Depp's Lawyer, Camille Vasquez, Labels Amber Heard an 'Abuser' and 'Troubled Person' as Defamation Trial Ends
Johnny Depp's lawyer, Camille Vasquez, labeled Amber Heard an "abuser and a deeply troubled person," on Friday.
Vasquez made her comments as she closed her arguments in the defamation trial that has been going on for about six weeks now.
"There is an abuser in this courtroom but it's not Mr. Depp. There's a victim of abuse in this court but it's not Miss Heard," Vasquez underscored, adding that Amber is "in fact" the abuser while Johnny was the one who was abused in their relationship, per the Daily Mail.
The lawyer then mentioned the expert accounts indicating that Heard was diagnosed with a borderline personality disorder. She then called the "Aquaman" actress a "deeply troubled person" who is "desperate for attention and approval."
The attorney also looked back on the timeline of the issues between Heard and Depp, claiming that Depp was set up when Heard filed a "false report" of domestic violence against her.
"The photos capture what they wanted her to see - the image of a battered woman. The dark mark on her face appeared six days after seeing Mr. Depp. It was a lie, she knew it, Mr. Depp knew it and multiple witnesses who saw her that week knew it. The world only saw what she wanted them to see," Vasquez highlighted.
Depp's attorney went on to say that Amber Heard is either a victim of truly horrific abuse or a woman who would say anything. She added that it is "disturbing" that Heard would make the "horrific tales" of abuse and testify in the courtroom.

Camille Vasquez on Friday also accused Amber Heard of acting in the courtroom when she was giving her testimony in the defamation trial.
"She came into this courtroom prepared to give the performance of her life, and she gave it," Vasquez said, per Newsweek. The lawyer then mentioned that Heard wept without tears while giving her testimonies then referenced the actress' coach, Christina Sexton, who testified that the "Aquaman" star had difficulty crying when acting.
Co-counsel Benjamin Chaw also spoke during the closing arguments and noted that some of Johnny Depp's fans would never look at him the same way again, after what Heard did.
Reports claimed that the jury is due to make their deliberation on Friday afternoon. However, if they do not reach a verdict on Friday, the deliberations will resume after the Memorial weekend.
