Tikal National Park

If you are into places with historical and cultural roots, then checking out the Tikal National Park in Guatemala should be on your list. The said park is home to one of the largest pre-Columbian Maya ruins in the world.

Tikal's ruins showed what life was like in this Maya city. When you are here, check out The North Acropolis, which holds the burial sites of people dating back to 1,300 years.

You should also check the Plaza of Seven Temples that were made during the 650 B.C. and the Tikal Temple, which stands at 47 meters high. This site is now a UNESCO World Heritage.

Semuc Champey

Taking a dip and relaxing in the waters is never a letdown during a trip, especially when you are in Guatemala. The Central American country is home to the famous Semuc Champey, a 300-meter-long forming limestone bridge in the middle of the jungle.

The said rock formation is famous for its turquoise water pools. This tourist spot is also famed for the area's river tubing and cave explorations.

Trekking the Pacaya Volcano is also a good idea if you want to see a live volcanic activity. Pacaya is known to have been continuously active since 1975, with the lava explosions constantly changing its appearance.
