The NFL has now served Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson a six-game suspension following allegations of the football star's sexual misconduct. However, many within the league are unhappy with the decision. Many think the six-day suspension is too light. However, Watson and his Browns teammates think the suspension is too severe.

Disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson ruled Monday that he violated the league's personal conduct policy. She wrote a 15-page report and recommended that the NFL should suspend the quarterback for six days. However, the report also said that the NFL recommended that Watson be suspended for the entire regular season, as well as the postseason, according to ESPN.

The NFL Players Association and the league can still appeal the ruling made by Robinson, and they have until 9:00 a.m. ET to submit it. However, the NFL Players Association has made it clear in a statement that they will stand by her decision and urged the NFL to do the same.

DeShaun Watson Believes He Should Not Be Suspended at All

While many felt that the 6-day suspension is not enough, Deshaun Watson and his counsel and representatives are also not happy with the decision. However, according to NFL insider Josina Anderson, he believes he should not have been suspended at all.

According to Clutch Points, his reaction is surprising given that many were expecting him to be suspended for a year. Compared to that, a 6-day suspension should have been considered a win. It is also likely that he might appeal the decision. However, the NFL might also want to appeal, as they wanted a tougher suspension for the Browns QB.

In her decision, Robinson sought to differentiate between violent and non-violent sexual conduct. In her report, she concluded that Watson's conduct did not fall under the "Violent Conduct" category that would require getting the minimum 6-game suspension. However, her report also concluded that Watson's "predatory conduct" also cast a bad light on the League and its players.

She also ruled that Watson should limit his club-directed sessions and Club-approved massage until he retires. This is one of the conditions for his reinstatement. She also ruled that Watson must not commit any violations of the policy, nor should he have any involvement with law enforcement.

25 Women Have Filed Civil Lawsuits Against DeShaun Watson

Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam stated that they respect Robinson's decision and said that they know Watson is remorseful. However, he had denied all allegations of wrongdoing during his massage sessions. Robinson noted that Watson had a lack of remorse for his actions, and this led to his suspension.

ESPN reported that 25 women have accused the Browns quarterback of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct during massage sessions. They have also already filed civil lawsuits against him. These encounters took place from March 2020 to March 2021, and it started when Watson was still playing for the Houston Texans.

One of the lawsuits was dropped, while 20 of the 24 settled already. Watson has agreed to settle three of the remaining 24 lawsuits, according to the lawyer who represents all the women suing Watson. This comes as the Houston Texans reached settlements with 30 women who made claims that the team had an alleged role in Watson's allegations.
