Stimulus Check 2022: $250 Payments in New Mexico Coming Soon, Delayed Rebates Being Resolved
Many states have been eyeing to release their own version of Stimulus Check 2022 to residents as a form of inflation relief as Americans struggle in paying the costs of food, gas, and housing.
In July, California announced that they will be sending their citizens inflation relief checks.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a $308 billion state budget that includes inflation relief checks worth up to $1,050.
Now, states like Delaware and Georgia are imposing the same measure, according to NJ News report.
New Mexico will be releasing the same direct payment schemes after Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham approved a measure in early March that would give residents $250 for earning less than $75,000 a year and a $500 rebate for all residents.

New Mexico issued the $250 rebates in July while the $500 rebate will be sent in two payments, which were already released in June and the other to be distributed in August.
The checks that will be sent in August will be the third direct cash payment for this year in Mexico.
In addition, it will not be tied to income levels unlike the checks distributed in July.
KRQE News reported that the August rebate comes from a one-day special legislative session on April 4. Lawmakers and the governor passed a bill allowing direct cash payments to tax filers and non-filers statewide.
The measure would target high fuel costs and rising costs of goods and services.
New Mexico single filers will receive $250 from the state regardless of their income levels while joint filers or heads of households are set to receive $500 from the state regardless of their income.
New Mexico Tax and Revenue Department noted that the latest round of paper checks should be distributed faster than the first payments sent out in May and June.
Around 52,000 New Mexicans are included in those who will receive the August rebates first through direct deposit. Meanwhile, 300,000 New Mexicans will get their direct payments through checks.
The deadline for filing a 2021 return is until May 31, 2023.

Florida will also be sending their own inflation relief checks with around 60,000 Florida families seen to benefit from it.
CNET noted that the state of Florida will be sending $450 payments as the result of a state program focused on helping families struggling with inflations, particularly those with children.
Qualified families will get a one-time $450 payment for each child in their care to cushion the costs of rising inflation, "especially with a new school year approaching."
The money can be used for "buying diapers" or purchasing gas.
Eligible recipients should be a foster parent, a relative or nonrelative caregiver, or a participant in the Guardian Assistance Program or the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families as of July 1.
Letters have been mailed to eligible families and those who are qualified for the payments do not need to apply anymore.
