Playstation 4 will officially be for sale in North America on November 15 and will be released in Europe exactly two weeks after. Sony made the announcement on Tuesday at a press conference in Germany.

The console, which will be released in 32 countries, was unveiled at a news conference in New York 6 months ago to the day. Sony said that the PS4 would have better performance and that it would be the industry's "most personalized gaming experience."

The PS4 will cost $399 and there will be a specific selection of games that will be available before the end of the year; the release date will line up perfectly in time for the holiday season.

The games that will be available before 2014 include Madden 25, NBA2K14, NBA Live 14, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Need for Speed: Rivals, Battlefield 4 and 27 more.

Sony will be able to market the price advantage over the rival Xbox One, which will cost $499 once released later this year. The price of the 12 GB PS3, which was released in November of 2007, will get bumped down to $199.

According to USA Today, gamers who buy Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assasin's Creed IV, and Watch Dogs can get the PS4 version of the games for a cheaper price for a limited time.

Sony's Playstation Twitter page used the hashtag #GreatnessAwaits after the release date was announced. The hashtag quickly spread around Twitter as fans used it in tweets of excitement about the upcoming release.
