The Bahamas is also known for the "Golden Era," or the "Golden Age," during the 1600s-1700s, when pirates had a growing economy in the Caribbean. Pirates were known to have targeted merchant ships through the harbor and would often rob them with their bounty, including gold, salt, and many other goods.

The Queen's 66 Steps can also be found in Nassau. The Queen's 66 Steps was carved out of solid limestone in 1794, directing a path from Fort Fincastle to central Nassau. Also found in Nassau is the Retreat Gardens, home to the world's largest private collections of rare and exotic palms.

Exuma Cays Land

Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park welcomes tourists looking for activities under the water. Several operators offer diving and snorkeling day trips in and around the marine reserve, which include Dive Exuma in George Town, according to a Lonely Planet feature.

Exuma Cays land has marine species such as angelfish, eagle rays, reef sharks, clown fish, lobsters, and turtles. Visitors to the Exuma also swim with pigs, with the feral hogs living on uninhabited Major Cay for over a decade.

The Exuma pigs routinely swim out from the shore in search of food, which is usually provided by day trippers. Visitors are encouraged not to get too close to the pigs and to use natural plant-based food.

Grand Bahama Island

Grand Bahama Island is famous for package tourists and cruise ships. Port Lucaya has also been dubbed as the tourist hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Planetware reported that the Port Lucaya marketplace sells jewelry, straw goods, and other souvenirs. Grand Bahama is also home to one of the longest underwater cave systems.

Elbow Cay

You can participate in several activities if you visit Elbow Cay, such as the Hope Town Lighthouse, which is the only lighthouse in the Caribbean that is still operating manually.

The Wyannie Malone Historical Museum is also available for a visit. The museum tells the history of Hope Town and the Abaco Islands. Tourists can also try deep sea fishing with fishes such as Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Blackfin Tuna can found in the area, according to Bahamas Air Tours.

The Bahamas Long Island

Hamilton Cave can also be found on the island. It is very much alive and is home to five species of bats, lizards, soda crabs, crickets, and roaches.
